What Would You Buy?

OK, I've seen plenty of post saying what do you drive. A better question, I think, is what would you like to drive? OK, OK, everyone is going to shout out some sort of dream car like a Viper, Ferrari, Porsche, or something equally as expensive. So a price limit is in order.

So, if you had £20,000 (GBP), or $30,000 (USD), what car would you buy? I guess the Americans amongst us will probably be able to buy a better car as prices are lower over there.

Personally, right now I quite like the Alfa Romeo 147. You can get a pretty nice one over here, a 2 litre T-spark, huge alloys, sequential semi-automatic gearbox, and great looks. That would set me back around £18,000 (GBP), so the rest I'd spend on extras for the car.

Ohh, and you've got to pick a new car, not second-hand.

i think i would buy a used 240 hatch, do the s13 front end conversion add teh rb25det and some nice paint and stereo and it would be awesome.throw maybe 12 grand at the engine and oh boy vipers look out.

I would go for a japanese monster like a Lancer Evo VI GSR, or a Skyline GTR R34. I'm not sure about the prices though, I guess I could have a lancer imported for a little more than $30k and the skyline probably at $70k.

I'd either get a '94-'98 Toyota Supra Turbo w/Royal Saphire Pearl paint. Or a 1987 Buick GNX, and upgrade the turbo, add a huge FMIC, and beef up the motor a lil'.

Believe it or not, my fantasy revolves around a sedan. A '00 Maxima SE in dark gray or black, preferably with its 17" alloys. Getting those used in New York City would set you back about $20,000 (EDIT: Actually, that's the high end. The price varies from $15,000 to $20,000...). The rest of it I'd save, just in case I'd want to mod it (only slightly).

Hmmmm it would have 2 be a Second Hand Escort Cosworth. Today I was blown away by this escort cosworth that was styled EXACTLY like the rally car. Not just the outside but when I looked inside it had a roll cage and had all the stuff strpped down like a real rally car. It looked so cooooooooooooooooooooool, it even had the name of the guy on it, but apparently his co driver was the devil.

i think you mean sr20det. Maybe not though, good idea even so, even though you took it from a magazine . For a new ride id get a bones IS300(24k??) and rip out the C18, sell it, throw in the 2JZ-GTE, then BPU that engine. Id use the IS300 because you said it had to be a new car.
If used cars were allowed id either take a '96 supra tt or '95 rx-7 turbo. Or if i were ambitious id take the 2JZ-GTE from the supra and pop it in the rx-7. THAT would be a giant killer :licks lips:

Why the hell would anyone switch out the 13B for the Supra's engine? Just get the J-spec 20B(3 rotor)and put that in there, a lot of people have, and that's 300hp...

yea! rotary power. Supra engines are good in hp & trq but rotaries are much better. take alook at stock hp for supra engine and stock hp for 3 rotor engine.
