Hi there forum users :)

After extensive reading, researching, googling, you tube-ing and generally confusing myself, I'm still undecided on which of these wheels to get. So I'm hoping you guys will make my mind up for me.

Firstly I should mention i game on both the ps3 and xbox.

So, poll answers, would you choose the Fanatec GT3 RS V2 with CSP's plus gear shifters

Or

the Fanatec 911 turbo s with the wireless, standard pedals, gear shifter and xbox functionality?

The price difference is minimal which makes the decision harder!

Thanks very much, in advance, for your input on this.

If you play on both consoles, the answer is pretty simple:

The PWTS is the only available forrce feedback wheel for both platforms

I know, but those CSP's look awesome, and the alcantera leather on the wheel looks nice too

than buy the turbo s with the csp. (i know it cost more but a good purchase)
That is what i did.

^This!

Get the Turbo S. If you don't you'll regret your decission later on when you have no decent wheel for your Xbox360.

You can always buy the CSP afterwards if you have the money.

Do have an Xbox or an Xbox360?

General question: Is the turbo S also compatible with the older Xbox?

I have an xbox 360. I was thinking the same thing to be honest, i would probably regret not having a wheel when forza 4 comes out. Its just the CSP's are a fortune on their own.

No unfortunately, Microsoft made sure previous xbox wheels (such as the Fanatec Speedster 3 ForceShock wheel that I bought to play Forza 1) were completely useless as they were not wireless in operation.

This incompatibility goes both ways I believe, so any wheel for the 360 won't work with original xbox driving games, at least this is definately the case with Richard Burns Rally (but will try again tonight, that was such a good driving sim!!)

I just had a look at the PWTS UE, (with the CSP's ) and added a wireless dongle and shifter set, it came to a massive 479.80 euro's (around 392 pounds) YIKES!

Yes they are. But look at it this way; the G27 pedals are very good but don't have a load cell and those magnetic things instead of potmeters. If you want to mod your G27 pedals, you have to buy at least the APelectrix which is also expensive. If someone get this mod, you still have the potmeters.
The CSP pedals have a load cell and the other stuff and are very adjustable. The more expensive mod for the G27 pedals is the perfect pedal. Very ingenius but very expensive. If you want the same level of the CSP with your G27 pedals, they will turn out to be even more expensive.
If you look at it that way, the CSP are not expensive at all. Pure financially, they are expensive indeed.

What do you prefer? Not having a wheel when Forza 4 comes out at all or having a wheel when Forza 4 comes out with standard pedals.
It's easy, get the Turbo S. Tell Thomas I said so.

All hobbies are!

Ok, thanks!

The price has come down from when I bought mine, I got the Clubsport edition along with the Rennesport Wheelstand, pedal stop, and shifter adapter!! Actually I have just knackered my own point there thinking about it as I got all of the above for about £70 extra.

But I have got to say that I expect this set up to be compatible with the next xbox, playstation (whenever they arrive) and PC for years to come.

Typically I had bought a new wheel for every new console I bought, so think of it like that as I did when I bought mine (and still do) and the question is can you afford not to buy a Turbo S and the CSP.

I like the replies im getting here! :) I'll be getting the rennesport stand the following month, is the pedal stopper and gear shift adapter essential purchases?

Pedal stop? no, if you use velcro to secure the CSP in place on the wheelstand, but I went for the belt and braces option and use both!! As for the shifter adapter I'm not sure, as I never used the "chopsticks" supplied with wheel but I suspect not. I wouldn't bother initially, just see how it goes with the standard poles and get it if there is excessive movement.

Okay thanks.

EDIT:

Okay after more thinking and weighing up options, including money limitations, it appears that getting decent pedals is more important than wireless or X360 compatability, so I'll plump for the GT3 RS V2. Decent wheel, excellent pedals and a lot cheaper than the PWTS with the CSP's. I just cant justify spending an extra 130 euro's just for wireless and forza 4. As i do most gaming on the PS3.

thanks everybody for your help.

I'm going to make it even more difficult for you. Why not waiting for the Carrera wheel? It's cheaper and you can get the CSP pedals as well for this wheel.

Eugh no thank you, I have a DFGT and i hate the rubber wheel. Although its a great deal to be sure.

I have the possibility to buy the GT3RS v2, 1 and an half months old with a G25/27 pedal adapter for €145.

Someone on these forums needs to do an alcantera leather wrap/mod for the Turbo-S that is cheap and easy. With the thumb rest that the GT3RS wheel has would be nice to..

I saw a Youtube video by a guy that owned both wheels(GT3-RS & Turbo-S) and he switched the wheels between the two units.
He took the wheel from the Fanatec GT3-RS and put it onto his Turbo-S wheel base unit and then put the Turbo-S wheel onto the GT3-RS wheel base unit.
Only problem whith that, is you need the money to buy both Fanatec wheels...

Whats the point in that, if you have both wheels you may as well use the gt3 for ps3 and PWTS for 360.

Because he, and alot of other people like the GT3-RS wheel much better than the Turbo-S wheel.
If you put the GT3-RS wheel, on the Turbo-S unit, you get the best of both worlds...Nicer wheel and PS3/XBOX/PC comptability.Well that would be three worlds...LOL

He was then able to install just one wheel in one rig with all three systems(PS3/XBOX/PC) hooked-up to it without having to switch wheels in and out.
I also think he gave the GT3-RS unit with the Turbo-S wheel to his son because he no longer needed both.

Really? Maybe I should get this wheel before it's sold. According to the ad, he played with it for about 3 hours. But I don't have pedals!

well the GT3Rs V2 is 180 euros new on its own. CSP's are 200 euro.

however you can get a new GT3 with CSP's for 319 Euro plus delivery

Ah, ok. I read your post where you said that the GT3RS v2 and the CSP costs €219. I quoted you and saw that you changed it into €319. So I edited my post because you corrected yours.

Simply the Turbo S Wheel.

Forza 3 and Race Pro are awesome with the Turbo S.

I used to do most of my gaming on the PS3 with my G25, games like GT5P, F1CE, Ferrari Challenge etc. Since aquiring the Turbo S most of my time goes onto Forza 3 and Race Pro.

I would also like to add that Forza 3 feels much better than GT5P IMO :)

Lemme preface by saying that I love the Forza games. I'd put both Forza games ahead of GT5p for gameplay and fun. I've logged hundreds of hours in each one and really benefited from getting the PWTS. However after having my standard pedals break and getting some clubsports I have to say the clubsport pedals are AMAZING.

I'd actually be willing to forgo forza or just spend the 80 dollars extra to get the PWTS with clubsports so I could drive it in everything else I play. They're that awesome. Then again my primary platform is the PC with the outliers being Forza and GT on the consoles.
