What's better, hot or cold b-spec driver?

I say hot...not max hot...just a little above average or 1 or 2 notch below max. Especially at the beginning cause they don't want to pass when they're low xp.

I have 5 HOT and 1 COLD.

I must admit that I saw no diff except the fact that the "hottest" tends to overtake and seems to love pushing the car to it's limits.

Maybe I'm wrong tho, don't quote me on that.

In my experience the above is true.

For drivers with low experience = up to level 30, this means the hot one will spin out, go of track, etc...

For drivers with high experience = above level 30, this means that the hot one will overtake, even cool more experienced drivers.

So I go for hot and forgive the low performance in the beginning.

I agree that a warmer BOB is better. The cool BOBS that I had, always seemed to be afraid of making that crucial pass and would end up just braking and falling back a spot.

Seems true - mine are all cool and nobody overtakes! It's OK because I'm not really stuck, but it does get annoying to watch.
