i have used a omega racing cockpit quite a few times and find nothing wrong with it if im honest i see they come with everything you need for just under £300 or £250 without the television mount, the only thing to slightly bother me is you kind of climb in it, minor issue but just saying, the wheel i used with that was a g27 i found the set up very quiet (no rattles squeeks) and comfy

iv also looked at playseat evolution online for near the same price but iv never used one of these setups, is there a comparison? from the pictures it looks like you dont so much climb in it and could have a better quality seat??

and the final thing is my wheel ill be using is the driving force gt a noisy wheel in my opinion so i dont want to have a horrid metal sound and rattles in my living room,

also there is that fk automotive seat knocking about now you can get for £150 any good?

any advise on other seats i could look at or to go for one of these.

my main concern in the noise of the wheel, i will upgrade to a g27 but it wont be till next year at a guess, and that would be with possibly looking into reverse mounting the pedals (maybe not sure what seats that works with), ohare any compatable with some kind of feedback to the actual seat itself,
thanks

Build your own, all you need is 2x4's, mdf boarding, screws and some pilot drivers.

I'm currently building my own right now, I just finished putting the seat in and it wasn't a 300$ racing seat, it is a desktop seat that I templated the holes off of the pump and drilled the holes.

You can purchase a race seat for 150$ with universal brackets at summit racing. It should run you somewhere around 180-200$ to build and have a racing seat.

I don't know if you saw my recent GranStand Seat Module Mini Review.

I am sure a similar seat can be sourced in the UK, you can get one like mine on Amazon for $165 now $175 delivered in the USA.

You can buy the seat frame separately from GranStand for $65.
The frame is designed to be used with real car seats.
So you could also source a real car seat in good condition from a salvage yard.

You will need either a desk/table or wheel stand to mount the wheel on.

Edit, seat link addition: This is the same as the seat that I got:

i would but after all the hassle i would just end up with something in my living room that looked like homer simpson glued together, and my missus would leave me, i figure the omega racing pro set up would look much less of a eye sore, that brings me to the buttkicker mod does anyone know if that would be compatable with the omega racingseat, or would i be better with another set up ,
thanks

i had a look jogo i have it on a desk as it is now, and sometimes use a rocker game chair but as said im wanting to slowly upgrade and use less space if im honest, .
the sound with the rocker chair is fantastic so looking to do something similar with a newer set up

I'm not great at woodworking either :), but I learned from my mistakes I made from my first cockpit. My first one was actually quite bad, the seating position was bad and it had an incredible amount of wobble.

Now my 2nd one, is built like a tank, I have 46 screws just in the base and the hard mounted desktop chair.

I think what you fear most is painting it, trust me when I'm saying this. I suck at painting yet I managed to paint my 1st rig amazingly, just get some wood stain, take very small amounts of it on your paint brush and then paint it in the way of the grain, then after 5 minutes take a sponge and lightly brush it against all of the painted areas, leaving no excess and showing the grain.

But if your that scared of screwing up, just go for an obutto, I think they're 380$ which is 235 pounds. It is the best bang for your buck and has everything from shifter plate, to a keyboard and mouse tray.

Hes steering you in the right direction with the obutto. Not sure on the shipping cost though.

the abutto same price but sadly not worth the hassle for that rig but still looking into it, if i bought i know no one else would have one ;) should hold value, but i dont think its as well built as what i could get nearer home,

will take a look at game racer next

<game racer looks a bit too low down to the floor there are cheaper ones like that i think,an im leaning toward something with a screen mount now, i suppose stability is the most important thing tho when i come to purchase,

£325 too much im pushing it at £300 and want to avoid bright colours, tho red i hate so much will match the gfgt wheel and my headset!

Playseats are quality products, no doubt, but i've had mine (WRC) for 2 years now and i'm gonna switch to some obutto or omega or whatever doesn't have a center pole ;)
