I don't think I remember that well myself. To be honest, I've never ever had a proper friend that I've helped out a lot, they were just so awkward sometimes. The best one I can remember right at this moment is researching for a friend's family to get a new car, as they didn't have internet access. They were on a £1,500 budget and wanted a 7 seater MPV that was decent, not absolutely falling to peices. I don't think they got around to buying one in the end, but I sure did enjoy doing the reaserch.

So, what have you guys done? It will be interesting to see how far you go to help a friend out. I know people go too far sometimes...

Tbh how I really go out of my to help other people is personal, but often like Silverzone said, you can help an awful lot just by listening in some situations..

A friend will always bail you out of the lock up. A mate will be sitting beside you saying "Damn that was fun!"

And, just predicting the future for a second here, keep it clean-ish, please...

I let my in-laws stay at my house for 6 weeks.

Oh, nevermind. You said "What's the best thing you've ever done for a friend?" My inlaws are not friends.

I filled in as drummer for my friends band. If I wouldn't have, they would have had to cancel the show. Extremely addicting, by the way. :)

I've helped more friends move than I can remember.

Numerous auto and home repairs, also.

Good enough for now.

Hmm, nothing of any interest really. I've set up wireless networks, taught the basics of software, lent cash, given advice on stuff, the usual really.

I lent a new friend like $300 for a fine (had something to do with the police and drinking in a dorm at university... of which I was a part of ).

Recently one of my best friends went through some very rough times due to illnesses in his family. I made sure I was there to be a buddy when he needed to take his mind off of what was happening. That's the best thing I've done for a friend in recent memory.

Well, I've been their friend. That's more important than any one thing resulting from that friendship.

Being a friend isn't an action, it's a title. It's what you do that makes you a friend ;). I think I get what you mean though, I'm just being a smart ass.

But you don't befriend somebody because of one thing that they've done. It's the culmination of super-awesome-friendliness.

I have a lot of elementary school friends who've turned to the darkside of the force, unfortunately.

One time I videotaped my best friend and his gir........Oh, sorry Famine.

I took my friend a ways to get his liscence a year or two ago. I also help around him out around his house quite a bit because his parents are bums. There haven't really been any important things come up lately, though. He's by far the closest friend I have, though, so I don't at all mind helping him out with whatever.

But really, she wants me to.:sly: :ill: :dunce: 💡 :sly:

A good friend of mine hit the bottom of the barrel and was forced to move back to her hometown to live with her parents. Problem was, she was in Orlando, and she was from Kokomo Indaina.

So I pack her stuff in my truck, and in a U-Haul trailor (the small one she can afford) and halued it up to Indiana for her. 30 hours of drive time there and back.

Best part of this story is that my alternator went out in Indiana in the middle of the night. I made a big descion, and went to a 24 hour Wal-Mart type store, and bought a brand new battery. I drove home on the battery alone. No radio, no lights (as sun as the gave me the first of light). Got home, bought a new alternator, and battery.

I have fixed fixed some of my friends cars for free (fairly big jobs not just simple things), one that my friend stupidly pull half the car apart and not having a clue how to put it back again :indiff:.

Just curious why did you need to buy two batterys?

He used up the original battery on the to Orlando because his alternator went out. He then bought a new battery and drove home using only its power. When he got home he had to buy a second new battery because the one he drove home on was, obviously, a little worn out.

Um...worn out? The battery would have been drained but still good. We are not talking about disposable batterys you buy for a torch (flashlight) here.

If you define frendliness you get a culmiation of different actions, being a friend it'self isn't an action. If you defined a case freindship as simply as being pleasent with somone, then the action is being pleasent;). Like I said, I'm being a smart ass.

Luckily everything has always been ok with my friends, none of them have major problems really:confused: But it doesn't mean I'm not a close friend to them.

Same here. I help my friends and family any way that I can within reason. I never ask for anything in return. It is very rare for me to ask for help with anything. Once in a while I ask just to make them feel good. Just like this weekend I bought 4 garage lights with 4 bulbs each. Heathers brother loves working on houses and installing electrical so I called him and asked if he wanted to help. Its the little things in life that make people soo happy. I could have done it myself but if its someting he likes, why not let him help with it. :)
After the installation we all played Yuris revenge online. Good times.

By the time I got home, back in Orlando, the battery I bought in Indiana was dead. The guys at Discount adviced me that it wasn't going to be worth charging. It might hold a charge, but not more then a couple months. So I just bought another one.

I let him live in my home for 2 months while is life sorted out.

In return, he's helped me get my car out of an impound lot that was 2 hours from home.

Umm...ok, I don't know what Discount is but it sounds like they wanted to sell a battery to me, but doesn't matter, don't want to stray too far off topic, was just curious :)

back to topic:

I have had to pick up friends late at night that have run into trouble a few times or they just couldn't get home.
