What's the deal with the bitching?

I've only been on here for about a week and already I've had more little bitching comments than I've had on all the forums I've ever been on. Even from a mod and a premium member who seems to think they are something special.

Didn't expect it on a GT5 forum for some reason, I'm disappointed. Aldo when I forst joined there was a guy totaly bigging the place up, saying it was all nice people. I was like.... "aye?" Great. Then the next couple of days got premium members and a mod being pure douchingtons.

Might just stick to the game, never needed a forum for GT1-5P.

PS I'm a regular forum user for other aspects other than GT5.

I think I know what this is about. JaymzVsTheWorld started a thread in the Marketplace that was deleted. I've looked at it and I totally agree with the moderator who closed it - there was never much of a discussion topic to begin with. Jaymz objected to the closure and sent a crudely-worded message to the moderator, who then hit him up with an infraction. This is Jaymz's "bitching" that he's complaining about. I can offer no sympathy for it, though I might suggest an attitude makeover - claiming that you've been struggling against the world since the day you started breathing air does not win you friends or the ability to influence people.

Jaymz, if you continue to violate the AUP the way you did in responding to your thread closure, it will stop being JaymzVsTheWorld and start being JaymzVsTheModerators very quickly. I guarantee you that the moderators will win that one.

On a sidenote interludes, I've come to notice a lot more lately of the strict enforcer you and not any laidback-ness to you. I'm not saying you can't do your job (and my say really doesn't matter anywho), but all I see is the Modstick being whipped out. Just wondering what's up.

What can I say? There's been a high volume of traffic that needs moderation of late. I don't really have a lot to do with myself now that we're in end-of-year holidays, so I have a lot of time on my hands. I'm practically on all day, or at least leaving GT Planet open. Maybe it's not so much a case of doing a lot of moderation, but simply being the most-visible. Plus, I don't own a PS3 or GT5, so there's not much that I can do in the GT5 subforums but moderate. I try to avoid moderation in forums that I regularly discuss things in. I woke up this morning to find eight private messages from users with various issues around the forums. I'm also trying to differentiate between my "User Voice" and my "Moderator Voice". Stuff in bold is me being a moderator. Stuff like this is me just being a regular user.

Have you ever read one of the threads in here. It's all people in here who are a lot like you. They don't understand the AUP. All the threads that are made which are complaining about other members or about their thread getting locked end up doing just that, getting locked. Read the AUP. If you don't accept it, you're not welcome here, if you do, welcome aboard.

That is a properley good idea. I like it lots, on this forum/font the difference between bold and not bold is really large so at a glance it is really easy to see.
