I just got my owner's manual for my car in the mail today and found out that its gross weight is 3385 lbs, yet I've been to various internet sites saying that the curb weight is 2416 lbs. Quite a big difference there. Can anyone explain to me what curb weight and gross weight mean?

Gross vehicle weight rating is the curb weight plus the payload capacity. So basically if your car has a curb weight of 2416 and a GVWR of 3385 then you can carry a maximum of about 969 pounds inside the car. This includes max fuel capacity, max fluids and all the payload (passengers and stuff in the trunk) it can carry.
