I'm trying to come up with a week by week program, and I want to here what you guys think... Its weird for me, because sometimes I can do 30 pushups, other times I can't do 15.. and i'm like, wth! Same with everthing else, sometimes I can do 500 jumping jax, sometimes I can't do 100...

Does anyone have any advice for a workout program?

I'm limited to supplies... No weights besides 10lb's... (for now, till I buy a Bench set, prob. mid summer)

I'm also buying a Jump rope, and eventually a kettleball...

I know there's some great workouts out there that don't require a room full of weights.

One thing you will be asked is, what are your goals? Strength, muscle mass, getting ripped, loosing body fat, ect..... Based on your goals and current body type (body type meaning, short and fat, tall and skinny, medium build....), your routine will differ.

I guess so... Not only for your informaton, But for myin aswell, I guess my goals would be...

Add muscle mass/strenght , while gaining tone. Loosing small amounts of body fat, cardio, and Definatly flexability (I would work out stretching into the routine)

How would you prioritize those goals from most important to least important?

Yeah, I've been reading though that, Thanks Loon...

Pako, I'd have to say...

1.Tone
2. Cardio
3.Strength
4. Lose Fat

Lighter weight, higher reps will take care of numbers 1, 2 and 4. It is my belief, right or wrong, that it's better to do that starting off anyway. I tore my back military pressing and I've been a stickler for proper form ever since. It's better to military press/bench/squat/etc. 150 with good form than to try to push yourself to hit 200. Once the muscle endurance and proper form is there, then move the weight up, thus taking care of number 3.

Also, keep the workouts varied (bear with me - I'm reminiscing. If you don't care to hear it, just jump down to Moral :P). In high school I weighed 145 pounds, but I hip sled 650. Needless to say I have strong legs. A few years after high school I was at the gym and some guys that could out squat me with one leg were doing leg extensions and struggling, thus making me wonder what they were putting up. After looking at the stack, I saw that they were doing less than I warm up with, so being a cocky 20 year old I asked if I could jump in for a set. They said yes and were pissed at me for showing them up. Moral - focusing on just bench or squats is a terrible way to lift. Go for well rounded and you'll be good to go, but I'm sure you were planning that already, thus making this entire paragraph worthless to everyone except me. :D

I agree with everything you just said. Although I wouldn't suggest just doing bench and squats, you would get a full body workout. Studies have proven that squats along can increase upper body muscle mass. As a rule of thumb, if your upper body stops growing, do more squats. :D

Deadlifts and cleans are also great full body mass builders....if you're into that kind of thing. Starting out, reducing the weight and isolating the different muscle groups will give you the best starting point to work from. Go for heavier weight after you've learned to lift properly with good form. Never sacrifice form from numbers, that's the easiest way to get hurt. Leave the ego out of the gym. :)

Thanks guys... Both have helped allot...

Heres a question... Do you think I need to work on Cardio and Stretching OUTSIDE of Tang Soo Do Class? We do allot of jumping jax/fast pushups/fast crunches etc... for cardio, and stretch quite abit... I'm not sure if I should take it abit more and just maybe do a Warm Up Stretch before, or Cool Down Stretch?

i should start doing something, i'm like a stick, could use at LEAST SOME work on the arms. Not that i'm lazy i just dont really have an interest in working out, don't know why. Too many things i'd rather do than that probably. Sometimes if i remember i do a few chin-ups on the bar attached under the door frame of the bathroom.

i don't have alot of time to go to a gym, so i was thinking on getting a home gym.. anybody here that has used these ones... weider pro 4300, weider pro 4950 or bowflex xtreme home gym.....
