wheel compatibility

Sorry if this has been asked before but does anyone know what wheels are supported, I have the FANATEC CSR and I was wondering if I'll be good to go right outta the gate and if anyone else is using it do you have some good settings yet? Thanks.

From what I have heard, the CSR will work, but not as good as a DFGT, G27, or T500. GT does not support Fanatec. I could b wrong tho.

You can't assign buttons though with the Fanatec, because it's not officially supported like the Logitech/Thrustmaster wheels, but people had not problem with them in GT5, so I reckon you'll be fine.

Nice wheel choice btw, I would definitely be getting one of them if I had the cash.

Compatible Steering Controllers

Guillemot THRUSTMASTER® T500 RS
Logitech Driving Force™ GT, G27 Racing Wheel, G25 Racing Wheel, Driving Force™ EX, Driving Force®Pro, GT FORCE, Driving Force®

Taken from Gran Turismo web page...

If you can use the pedals to navigate menus on your PS3 then you should be good to go for the most part. There might be some slight nagging issues, but you'll probably be able to use the wheel for racing because the PS3 understands the analog signals that are being sent to it by the pedals.

You can reassign the buttons on the CSR using the G25 profiles on GT5.

I use my CSR on GT5 and was able to assign buttons also, I just wanted to see if it's gonna carry over and if not then dust of my DFGT...guess I'll find out tomorrow  Thanks for the input everyone 👍

I'm playing GT6 now with my Fanatec GT3 RS v2 and Clubsport pedals and it works perfectly, even better when FFB is turned to 10 in the GT6 wheel options.
Does the GT3 have a button mapped to look backwards?

Not entirely correct, all Fanatec wheels are mapped in GT5 using the Driving Force Pro profile.

Since Fanatec has not submitted a Software Development Kit (SDK) for GT6 (according to PD) its most likely the same profile to use for button mapping in GT6.

All Fanatec wheels from low-end (911 Turbo/Carrera/GT2/GT3/CSR) to high-end (CSRE/CSW) emulate the G25/G27 on the PS3.

They all use the same USB vendor ID that the Logitech G25/G27 series do.

I have previously owned most of the Fanatec wheel line, but now use a T500RS for GT5/GT6.

all this time and I never knew to map it to the G25..just did it with GT5 and everything is looking good..I'm a little slow sometimes...at least that what my wife tells me :dopey:

Correction, Fanatec does not support PD, technically speaking, not having supplied the appropriate Software Development Kit (aka SDK).

You just said that what I posted was incorrect, then said that what I posted was correct, only including more information...

You can reassign the buttons on the CSR using the G25 profiles on GT5.

Buttons are re-assigned using the DRIVING FORCE PRO profile, not the G25 profile.

So to clarify, Fanatec wheels emulate the G25/G27 for driving properties on the PS3, and utilize their USB vendor ID for interface recognition, but use the DFP profile for button re-mapping in GT5.

That is why I stated you were not entirely correct, I meant no criticism, only clarification.
Its easy to get the two crossed up, like I said I have owned most of their wheels.
...and I could not figure out why the remapping did not work with G25 profile...
...until I went back used the DFP profile in GT5.

It may very well be used with the DFP profile, but it is also used with the G25 profile. Do I need to take pictures of the profile in the settings menu to show you?

I take your word for it, maybe things have changed since I upgraded to Thrustmaster equipment.

Did you try just profile #1? The post I found in a thread while I was searching yesterday stated that #2 had to be used. I remapped both to make sure it worked. If you used #1 and it didn't work that would back up what the post I found stated.
