looks like wheel diameter can be up-sized but no options for offset/ wheel widths

no flush, sure, but MAN tire width, wheel width and offset (which can widen the track-width of your vehicle) are massive factors in vehicle handling.

If they don't have these things, then they will have made several mistakes at once. If you are Yokohama or KW Suspension, how could you allow PD to get away with that? Putting your name on this thing and calling it a realistic simulation of tire/suspension physics?

Hopefully the 'Standard' size may have something behind it, but it's not looking good.

Wheel/tyre width was too varied in GT5. 1971 Mach 1 with the Torq Thrust gave you wider balloon tyres like the '69 RM. BBS on the Jaguar XKR made the tyre wider than the rear fender. Yet, wheels on the '71 Z are still inboard and Model T thin. Would be cool to stretch tyres.

I also notice no front splitter available( discuss on another parts thread perhaps).

May also be dependent on the view from "change view". Just noticed those were boyd coddington's wheels. Despite all the negative rumors about him, its nice they included his wheels... I wonder if they got Foose wheels.

I feel like the change-ability of the size of rims will depend on the rim, seeing as it's "Inch up:" then followed by a number, or possibly determined by the car, or well both

Well I'm glad to see this included. A number of cars are better with upsized tires. I just wonder if the tire size will be reflected in the handling characteristics? Will they factor in more traction, or perhaps include wheel weight and rotational intertia affecting stop n go performance? I'm not expecting it now, but I believe they will further down the road. They can only go up from here.

"Standard size" is one option, then the second option is "Inch Up: _" I would guess the first is the width. So standard size could change to 10", 11" etc. Then diameter is the Inch up option.

I just hope the amount of cars is now exponential. Decent selection in GT5 but needed quite a few lacking from even GT4. Hopefully they will offer the variety. Pretty excited about increased diameters though

No offset and width? I guess PDs workforce thinks changeable tyre size is enough customisation - Work completed.

I think so. Surely there is no significant customisation feature that we still haven't heard about after this. I get the impression their "thousands of customisation options" quote was based off taking the number of aftermarket wheels (say for example 50) and then multiplying it by the different wheel diameters (say 10), then using that to claim 500 unique customisation options. .

There is an arrow > after the option, so it might be an expanding menu.

The GT6 website reads "82 types (with 188 variations) of wheels..."
82 types would be the #of different wheels I assume. 188 variations hopefully isn't widths and diameters of said wheels. That would mean not every wheel has an adjustable width and diameter.

Thats the only thing I can think it means. Inch up 1&2. And for the old cars width would be better than height if the tyres are grippy during handling.

Id keep the steel wheels on the Nova and widen the rim. But, that aint happenin'.

It would be nice if we could change the width and diameter (for stagger) for each wheel. I know this is common for oval racing but do they ever tune each wheel individually for road racing?

I'm pretty sure some of Boyd's wheels are in GT5.

Yep, those are a carry-over.

I suspect the wheel diameter option is purely cosmetic and has no effect on performance. It looks like you can go stock diameter and 1" up only. ie. go from a 17" wheel to an 18" wheel

Note that there's an arrow next to "Inch up: 1", so you could presumably pick an option from something like "Inch down: 2", to "Inch up: 2".

Wasn't there an option for wheel size in GT5? Perhaps it was just for premium cars? Man it seems like I remember upping the size on a few cars that I sent friends. As a matter of fact I'm 99% sure there are different wheel sizes in GT5 and there is more than 1 size.
