I've been working on tuning a race modified Corvette ZR1 with EVERYTHING on it. It has over 800 HP and is very fast and I feel good with almost all the balance except for the wheel spin when exciting the corners. It feels like the torque on the Audi R10 TDI, only not quite as bad. It isn't a condition that has developed tuning it, it has had it from the start since I race modes an added everything to it, so it's a condition that everybody who fully upgrades all the parts on the ZR1 RM. I know that this is a result of the HP of the car so if anybody has fixed it on other high HP cars it may be applicable. I'm wondering if anybody has any remedies for this wheel spin problem. Any takers?

Play with the LSD. I'm not all that great at tuning the LSD, but there are a few good posts here about getting the most out of it.

See I did alot of playing with the LSD and when it is adjusted to the point of being comfortable the acceleration response is lowered so much it effects the lap time. When I started and put all the tuning thongs on the RM car with a difficult downforce / suspensions / LSD the lap time at Le Mans was in the 3:35 bracket. I got it to 3:30 before playing with the LSD for the wheel spin and by the time a difference was made about 1.8 seconds on average where knocked off.

Easiest way to deal with wheelspin is to set the gears longer (i.e numerically lower) in the lower gears (1st - 3rd). Acceleration will be affected, but it should bring better lap times since you're not spending all your time in a cloud of smoke at corner exit.

Well see the thing isn't spending my time in a cloud of smoke, when I know it's going to happen I just take it into account easing onto the throttle. However doing this I believe there is still 1.5-2 seconds out there if the wheels aren't spinning, so limiting the hearbox would get me to the same place the LSD did. Although I could be off on the LSD set up, the gearbox is kind of the same thing.

You want answers that don't have any downsides and that's rare.
Your LSD, is the right answer. Longer gears, is the right answer. A higher Rear ride height will help, but all of these sacrifice something in order to obtain better tire wear. You can't have lightning fast lap times every lap, and expect tires to last. It's a balance between the two.

Your LSD is the #1 thing that needs fixing it. If it slowed you down, you did it wrong.
Important questions, which tire spins first, what setup are you using, what track are you running, which type of corners does it happen in most frequently. Help me, help you. I can't stand looking at a post full of nothing and having someone expect me to fix it, without knowing a single variable or detail.

I'm not saying a solution that does one thing with nothing else, I know something suffers somewhere to improve elsewhere. Its looking for something where the change helps more then it hurts. And nobody isbasking you to fox anything, this is something I'm playing with and thought somebody may be able to offer assistance in. If your not interested in helping that's your deal.

I shoul he given some more variables though, I agree there. I tried playing with the ride heights by raising the front and lowering the back both together, individually, and so on. Right now I think I have them both at 0 or the front raised one with the rear dropped one. However, the ride heights, at least how I had played with them, felt like two were throwing off the balance of the car, so instead I played with the damper extensions to do the same and that made progress to where the wheels aren't spinning the car out near as much, but are still unsettling the car which I what I'm looking to solve. The current LSD settings are 30 / 30 / 40 I believe.

You ignored everything else, so I can't help anymore than that.

Ignored everything else? I've been screwing with all the tools in suspension and I, emphasize the "I", hadn't manage to get it right. That doesn't mean I have ignored them at all, it means that my best so far hasn't involved those. Where did I say "If I haven't referenced it then it doesn't work". I've played with EVERY suspension part, not ignored then, and my current quickest result just happens to have those at the default settings. But no, just get out of here if you want to be some snickering dick. To say assining things like "ugh, your just being ignorant because you haven fixed it like this, this, and this" is just stupid and it's making you look like an ass hole. Believe it or not your not the only one who can tune cars and my life doesn't hinge on your feedback.

It appears as if English isn't your first language, so I understand your confusion. What I was referencing when I said you ignored everything else, was the information I asked for. Every piece of information you've given me, I've offered potential fixes. You gave me your ride heights, I offered values that will help your issue. You gave me your LSD settings, I offered values that will help your issue. You can cry and act as a child all that you wish, but I asked you very specific questions, so that I could offer accurate suggestions. You ignored them, so I can't help anymore than I have. Just like I said above.

And you got the answer, I said eveything I had changed to the car, the rest where at defaults, that is the whole set up I currently have under the car and it gets no clearer then that. But no, dead serious, if your still sitting here saying dumb **** like "english isn't your first language" and making insults and crap then I seriously don't need your help. I even responded to your first comment from a neutral stand point and you still managed to be an ass hole. So just get out of here if that's how you conduct business. Agian, your not the only one who knows how to tune an car you certainly aren't the most hospitable, because in my brief time here in the tuning world you have been the only negative one. Everybody else here has been pleasant and offered good advice.

So... I'm suppose to memorize the default suspensions of every car in the game? So that when babies like you come in with their hands out, I can adjust them? Or is it my job to go log into the game, reset my car to default so I can see what you're starting with? Maybe I should buy a new ZR1 just so I can see what the defaults are? How far backwards should I bend, so that you can learn to tune a car? You don't want to learn, or you would have read the guide on tuning. You don't want someone else's tune, or you would have used one of the many that already exist. You want a custom made one, just for you. Stupid me, for actually trying to give it to you, but because I don't treat you, as if your a 4 year old daughter, and hold your hand and walk your through it as if you're tying your shoes, I'm the bad guy right?

You failed to answer ANY other question I asked, then had the audacity to act is if it was my fault that you didn't do so? You failed to give me what I asked for, so that I could help you. The only successful thing you've done, is attempt to insult me with 3rd grade names and humorously enough, the spelling and grammar of the same.

This is the last chance you have to get the help you seek, from me. I'm going to space it out in a Kindergarten format.

Which tire spins first? (This means inside or outside)
What setup are you using? (This means quantifiable numbers)
What track are you running? (This is the course you enter, are you only running Lemans?)
Which type of corners does it happen in most frequently. (Hairpins, Sweepers, medium speed, low speed, high speed, banked, off camber, undulating, esses, uphill, downhill)

The 'nice people' already gave you the correct answers, and you blew them off. I nicely tried to inform you, that what you were asking for, is slightly unrealistic that you can't have the best of both worlds. You continued to act as if you knew more than the people who offered help and refused to listen to the nice people who tried to help you. That usually deters any other potential nice people from helping. Your best bet at getting someone nice to help again, is the fact that I'm keeping your thread towards the top with my non-candy-coated-but-still-accurate-and-helpful advice.

It's a simple thing, I was playing around with a setup trying to correct a situation, I shared what my best was so far, and I wondered if anybody had a remedy they knew of for the situation that they could share or if they had encountered it could offer some feedback. It's a pretty casual thing but apparently you want some tayler made scientific process to it. If you were reading all the posts you would have had your answers. I already said the torque thing is like the Audi R10, I also said it was at Le Mans, everything else I said to you directly. But no, your off the hook, your good, you seriously don't need to help, it really us totally okay with me, save yourself the trouble

Now now, play nice everyone. At full power, traction in a light car isn't easy to come by, even less when it's going only to two wheels and CoG is towards the front of the car. If you wish, I could poke around with my own Z06/ZR1 RM and see what can be done.. But there's a little catch.

Check thread called "Mad Finntuners co.", and choose a tune for a car. Apply it, drive it, make a review that is longer than couple sentences and then you can request a custom tune for car of your choice.

Plugging again, eh, Leo? :P

But if I recall correctly, both you and Greycap have done the Corvette RM, right? Not at this power level, but you've both done a setup for it, unless I'm mistaken.

Yes, old setup that was done prior to the tire physics update.. So it might not be so hot.

I used LSD settings of 14/30/14 on my ZR1 tune (which is not RM), so I personally don't think there is going to be any huge problem with your LSD settings.

One thing special about the setup for this car I think is ride height. 0/0 is the minimum ride height on the FC suspension, and for me, the ride height needs to be set much higher than that to feel like a regular car.

You can find my tune in my garage and maybe some elements of my tune will help improve your tune. I tried the setup of my tune on a RM ZR1 and it didn't fit as well as I hoped and I tried to adjust it a little and get it improved, but I never got it as good as I was hoping for, so good luck with your tune.

Also, if your running a lot of your settings still at default, camber might also be a huge problem, if default camber is 0.0/0.0 or 0.5/0.5, that's not so good I think.
