Wheelstand pro

After reading alot good reviews about them i decided to order a wheelstand from their website. However i asked them that i do own a 360 and Driving Force GT so i need something like dual compatible. Good news they had :-

1) Logitech G25 Stand + XBOX 360 Extension
2) All Logitech Wheels + Xbox 360 Extension.

So i ordered the second one since i own the DFGT. Anyhow today i realized that if you want to take advantage of full sim racing then why not have a clutch also. So i returned my DFGT got the refund and planning to buy G25.

Now my problem arises. I am very anxiously waiting for their reply from wheelstandpro to see if the stand i ordered will work for G25 also (Which i am sure it will not as they have 2 different stands for Dual solution one for logitech wheels and one specifically for G25 and the price difference is $20). I have already waited 4 days and had to wait 5 more days for the package to arrive. I really do not want to send the package back and spend money on shipping to poland which definitely will cost $40 - 50 and then almost 2 - 3 weeks of more waiting and not playing GT5P .

After doing alot of research and saw some pictures my gut feeling say that the current stand should work as long it contains some holes. If it does then all i need to do is buy a shifter plate just like the fanatec wheel stand does. Just curious to see if anyone knows the answer before people from Wheelstand pro replies me back

You just need a shifter plate as far as I know.

Also shouldn't this be in the Steering Wheel and Cockpit section?

The shifter plate from the wheelstand pro is just a piece of metal that goes between the wheel and the regular plate from the stand. For the price of returning it you could probably go to the hardware store, buy a piece of metal and stick it in between there yourself.

Even better, get some wood and make a shifter stand.

2x4's and a small piece of ply wood and some nails= custom shifter stand.

This way you can place the shifter where you want it, instead of next to wheel.

There is a specific wheelstand pro for the G25 with a wider plate to accomodate the clutch and shifter.

Its only an extra £10 than standard. Think there are three versions in total, if you go to the bottom of this page http://wheelstandpro.com/order.html it shows whats what.

Just re read your post, sorry. I can see I have completely misunderstood. If its all official G25 stuff you want to use it for the stand should be fine.

I was actually going to ask later today about the wheelstand pro, is it any good? I really want a DFGT but the usual problem I have no table in the lounge to fix it to. The mrs will be happy that the wheelstand folds up and goes away.

he should reply pretty quickly (usually same day to me within a couple of hours)... and if he hasnt dispatched it , i dont see why he wouldnt just cancel the order and let you place a new one.

Thanks for all your replies. I did'nt knew that there are other categories existing in Gtplanet also. Sorry for the confusion. As of now i have'nt heard anything back from them. Hopefully should hear something by tomorrow. Actually when i emailed Sebastian i told him that i have a DFGT and XBOX360 wireless wheel so i need something like dual compatible.

He asked me to purchase the dual compatible logitech wheels + Xbox extension so i ordered that one. Got the tracking number also. But later on i saw some vids for G25 and was simple in love with it. Don't know if it is going to make any difference in my driving but thought the Clutch feature was very good and looked it on ebay and saw some great deals on G25. So i returned my DFGT. I went on their site and saw that the current stand which i ordered is not going to work on G25 wheel. So i started doing research and the only difference i can see between them 2 is the shifter plate. Here is what their site has to say :-

Trust me duncan. 4 days of full research and then i decided to buy the stand from wheelstand pro. Actually their stand have alot of good reviews and have not heard any single complaint. I wanted a stand which should be comptaible for Microsoft wireless wheel (Fora 3) and G25 ( Gt5). Will be getting my stand this weekend and will post some pictures also. Cheers mate, I did look at the fanatec one but the guy on the review said that knob got in the way.

Think I will plump for the Wheelstand Pro, it looks pretty cool.

g25 makes a huge difference, the pedals allow huge amounts of precission escpecially when braking and in regards to throttle contorl while the gear shift provides an exciting enhancement in the realism of the game... keep in mind the g25 is going to reduce in price with the g27 on the horizon, so its definitley worth a shout, and i would personally try to mod the stand to allow the attachment of the gear shift, but if that failed then you could always try flog it on ebay. and buy a g25 stand (which i have and has great sability even on force feedback 10)
