When do I upshift to get the best acceleration?

I just wanted to know when i should upshift to get the best acceleration. Cause I heard something about upshifting at the car's peak torque or peak horespower but yah....if someone can explain it to me that'd be great

..What does this have to do with drifting..well uhm, if you have the wheel you can hold the wheel-shifters in until it gets alittle past the 7 on that one gaugy thing..sorry, I have no clue what the things are called, or else I'd explain it better, all I know is drifting.

lol, its called a tachometer, and all cars are difrent, yes go past teh redline, but ont hit the rev limiter take my s13 all gears are diffrent, 2nd i shift at 8grand, 3rd is 7,500, 4th is about 7,800 and soo its a thing u have to test out for a little bit, and yes all gears have better tq at certin RPMs so u just need to experament
