Does anyone have any ideas when PD are expected to make an official about GT5?

How far before the release date of GT4 did we get all the details?

It just seems like its getting a bit too close to the release of the PS3 and surely they're well into the development side of the game to be able to release specific details? No?

Im getting sick of waiting, Im actually loosing interest... :grumpy:

The Tokyo Game Show is in October. We should learn something then. If we don't, then you'll know that GT5 may not be out till 2007, and that possibly GT HD will indeed become a PS3 game. For all I know, that's what GT Online is.

GT5 was never going to be released in 2006, neither did Kaz ever hint at or say it would be. 2007 has always been the speculated date.

I should have said "late 2007" but I was kind of dehydrated yesterday. I'm not a summer person, especially when it's 100F. :P

But there's growing speculation over the release of GT HD as a game if GT5 is going to be very late. Although there is another possibility that hadn't occured to me till just now. I was wondering if part of that downloadable content might not be a GT HD upgrade for GT4 you can purchase from Sony, to add a number of things to GT4 for the PS3. Items such as more cars, more cars per race, more interactive backgrounds, a paint shop, even simple damage models. Who knows what Polyphony can do with the basic GT4 game on a PS3?

Patches are sometimes not all that stable, so I'd expect that if Polyphony is going to do the work to make GT4 Elite a reality that a stand alone game would be coming, but we'll see. No one knows how far along GT5 is, and the TGS in October will be a big landmark for it.

One bit of advice.... don't hold your breath waiting for GT5.

If GT4 has taught us anything, it's that Polyphony Digital will take their time in putting the finishing touches to GT5 and that both PD and Sony will probably not say much about it until it is already finished....

Not 100% but I think the tokyo show is in late september

Ok, looked at the site, september 22-24th ..... I , as everyone must be, am hopeful that pd will have something......anything.....to show us.

first of all, dont count on the US release of the GT HD, im not even so sure if this game will come out in Japan, GT HD is not a full game just like GT-Prologue, its only a demonstration demo showing what GT4 game looks like on PS3 in very high resolution. There have been an article pretty long time ago the creator of GT told that the game will be using internal and external demange and collisions system and that this time cars will and can be rolled over, he mentioned that the cars will have rendered undersides because of the PS3 power. he mentioned that this will be a very hard task to do which "is harder then making cars go". The next GT game will (should) be 100 times better in every aspect to GT4. many, many graphical enhancements will be added as well...
in my opinion the game will be released on late 2007.

I remember reading that, that's pretty damn close to what was actually said in the interview 👍.

ohh thx u :), i remeber that interview but somehow cant i remeber what homework i should do from yesterday...:nervous:

Late 07 would be nice but I really want pd to just take their time and blow our minds. Remember how much better gt3 was compared to gt2? Hopefuly we'll see another leap forward like that if not beyond.

In the meantime it would be nice to see SOMETHING, not a demo but a real glimpse at what they're working on. I'm hoping pd will throw us a fricking bone at the tokyo show......

This is the million $ question on the lips of all GT fans.
If the game is due out in 2007 (early or late), then I think there's a very good chance we'll see something at the Tokyo show. It might just be a couple of basic videos showcasing improved details, or improved AI. I can't see them showing us car damage or changing weather just yet. They'll want to keep those until just before they go "Gold".

I'd say there will be no GT5 before christmas 2007, maybe even 2008...we'll see, but if I had to bet I'd say this....
