When you're tuning...

Which track or tracks do you use and why?

Do you still use the tracks you used (if available) from GT2 or GT3?

Which of the new tracks do you find the most useful in tuning?

What factors in a track do you consider the most important in tuning (acceleration, braking, top speed, high speed cornering, low speed cornering, etc)?

If you could only tune on one track, which would you want it to be?

(I realize that some tracks require tuning all their own due to their surface, these questions reference tuning a car for it's own maximum performance)

I thank you in advance for taking time to share your thoughts, have a blessed day.

Nurburgring, Midfield, maybe Deep Forest.

Yeah.

Which of the new tracks do you find the most useful in tuning?
Nurburgring, long fast, slow windy. It quite helpful. Midfiled is all about speed and ability to take corners quickly, Nurburgring is a bumby ***** of a course with a mixture of everything....thats why I love it. Deep Forest is a bit like Midfield with more elevation.

What factors in a track do you consider the most important in tuning (acceleration, braking, top speed, high speed cornering, low speed cornering, etc)?
A mixture of them all. I'm generally looking for a balance.

Probably Nurburgring, but I dunno.

Many people say they use this track or that track for tuning. But if you really want an edge in a series, it is really best to practice each track in that series and tune to a particular track. This would take a good amount of time but would give you the best results. I only wish there were more tabs in the tuning page and the tabs could be named.

I don't actually 'tune' cars myself. I just try and find a setup from someone knowledgeable.

However, I do test my setups. I usually do it on Costa Di Amalfi Easy. Why? Because buying and tuning a car costs money. After selling the prize car, I usually recoup my investment. There have been only a few occasions(McMerc SLR, Cusco Impreza, etc) where I haven't increased my savings.

deep forest is good as it has fast and slow corners, hills (up and down) and a good straight. I find if i set up here the car is good for most tracks

hmm usually i'll take it to deep forest or trial mountain... nice winding roads with lots of bumps... Nurburgring's too long for my taste, but i use it occasionally.

I used to have one suspension set up that worked quite well at all tracks in GT3 and only adjusted gearing to suit.
In GT4 it appears you need differing suspension set ups for your car to work best at each type of track.
The 3 tabs in the settings are quite helpful, one for the long bumpy tracks, two for shorter smoother tracks (old tracks from previous games) and three for street tracks.

My faves, Costa Di Amalfi & Citi Di Aria... tight, winding, passageways and steep climbs and drops that require constant throttle modulation and plenty of low-end torque :D
