where can i find the altezza or the lexus?

"The"?

There's many Lexuses. Two appear in the used car lists for a start - try looking in one of our three used car list threads (one for each version, ignoring Korean and Chinese versions) - and you can buy them NEW too.

If you're talking specifically about the Toyota Altezza, it's in the new car section at the dealer...

umm.. ok its covered now.

but to repeat infor given:
altezza is toyota. depending on what version of gt4 you have it will be in the toyota section.
lexus is american

i am assuming you are doing the altezza race? an is200 will do you or if you want less of a challenge try the is300.

I ain't got the stones to pick on Famine. Just making a point... :sly:

What's your opinion on the matter?

Heh. i have no idea.. Lexi seems to make sense. i was just joking that Famine should be immortal :dunce:

Wha? Ok...Is there a difference between the IS300 from GT2 and the IS200 from GT4? I was wondering why it's IS200. They have the wagon IS300?...

If you use a brand new IS200 or IS300 from Lexus in the Toyota Altezza cup, they'll let you in. If you use the GS300 from the used car lot, they won't. :D

I've been thinking about it, maybe the plural for Lexus is like the word Sheep.... or you could call it a Lex-ass! nyahaha!

As Lexus is a made up word, the plural of it is whatever Lexus/Toyota want it to be.

I thought the plural of Lexus would have been Lexi. :P "There's many Lexi..."

Like octopuses and octopi. :)

You = Wrong.

Plurals depend upon the originating language. If it is Latin in origin then the singular -us becomes the plural -i. If it is of any other origin (particularly Greek, since this applies quite nicely here) then the singular -us becomes the plural -uses.

Lexus -> Lexuses, because it is a made-up word, and a Proper Noun to boot.
Hippopotamus -> Hippopotami, because it is Latin in origin (from: hippo, horse; and potamus, river).
Octopus -> Octopuses, because it is Greek in origin. Technically, however, the correct plural for Octopus is Octopodes.

For reference: IS200 = 2.0 litre; IS300 = 3.0 litre.

the is300 = 3.0L engine pumping 215hp
is200 on the other hand, is a 2.0L and about 170?

In Japan, it's the Toyota Altezza. The Lexus IS200 uses a 2.0L engine and is marketed in Europe while the IS300 uses a 3.0L engine and is marketed in America.

IS200 is a 160hp 2.0 I-6, for the american version, around 190-200 hp for the Japanese version. IS300 is 200+hp 6 cylinder, but heavier. Best car to buy is the IS200 (J), whether you decide to race stock (it'll win easily) or if you feel like modifying.

Do you want to take another guess?

Lexus UK.

Meh sorry, I haven't heard that the IS300's available in Europe also.:guilty: Did Lexus first introduce the IS200 then introduced the IS300 later or were they both available since the beginning in Europe?

Heh, I think I'll shut up before I dig myself into a deeper hole. :nervous:

Yes. We got the IS200 in 1998, followed by the IS300 in 2001. Both are on sale now.

You can also get "estate" ("wagon", "Sport wagon", whatever) versions of both too.

most places the is200 came a bit before the is300. not a bad handler in is200 form - but apparently a tad nose heavy in is300 guise. probably not worth the slight hp gain.

Slight?

IS200 - 153hp
IS300 - 211hp

There's a second's difference to 62mph and 9mph difference at the top.

slight given the extra weight. track times for stock versions would probably be most telling in terms of the comparison.
