Where do you do your computing?

I used to type sitting on my chair but my arse started to get real sore because i would sit in that chair all day long. So i started to wonder if the cords for my keyboard/mouse would reach to my bed. Then i tried it and they do reach! So now, i do my computing while laying on my nice comfy bed :)

So, where do you do all your computing?

90% is done at a desk. But I'm REALLY picky about things like my chair, where the mouse cord goes etc (I can't stand any tension on the mouse cord).

I have a laptop with wireless LAN, which I use on the coffee table in the living room a lot, and sometimes also in bed.

About the only down side to me sitting on my bed is that my monitor is oooo teeny. It is only 8 x 12. What I would do for a 15 inch.

I have a wireless mouse and keyboard so sometimes I do it while watching TV in my room and I have too keep looking at the computer screen across the room to see what I am doing...and use weird things as mousepads.....

I have a table for the iBook (not really a desk...). And like Giles, I'm horribly, horribly picky about my setup (I actually get really pissed whenever my parents use my iBook, since they're bound to move something around)... I hate tension on the mouse cable too, my mousepad needs to be hanging just barely over the edge of the table, my keyboard must be placed just slightly off-center to the left, etc.

Desk at work, and desk in 'games' room at home (where the PS2 lives). Also a laptop on the coffee table in the lounge room, where I watch TV and surf the net at the same time (multi-tasking!).

200mhz Slackware computer: My bedroom, at my desk
1.7ghz XP computer: Dining room(converted into "office"), at the desk
eMacs: at School....

Like Giles, I cannot stand tension on the mouse cord. It pisses me off the most when I'm doing either image editing or 3d modelling, where precision is key. That's why I like to have at least an additional 4 loose inches of cord on the desk

My desk.

Must be nice to have that. Wish I had the money to afford that.

I went through and sorted out all my computer cords. I tried to move the scanner and printer to a different location but they got wrapped up in other cords behind the desk and I got real frustrated. So I unplugged them all and sorted it out.

Well the laptop is a work machine, and the WLAN isn't actually that expensive to set up.

I do my computing at either a desk or my bed with a laptop. Heck, I can play GT3 while lying in bed, too. Hehe. I'm also excessivly picky about the position of computer Items. I have a Wireless mouse&keyboard, so I don't gotta worry about those darn cords :D

Heh, I've done that two or three times in the past year... unplugging and disconnecting everything, setting them on the floor, wipe the table down, and put everything back up in new positions. Dunno, it just seems like I'm never satisfied with our desk setup. I do wish my dad would buy an iMac for himself... the family G3 + CRT monitor takes up an ungodly amount of space, while my iBook and keyboard/mouse take up next to none.

I'd go for a laptop if they could fit a DVD rom, CD rom, CD-RW and a decent processor in them. Also, if those stupid LCD screens could display mah 3D games properly. :irked:

I do most of my computing in my bedroom at my desk. It's so much cleaner than our upstairs office because there aren't so many wires and its not a mess. I had to buy a wireless optical mouse though because teathered mechanical mice are a pain when the cord is just barely long enough.

Yeah, I hate that too. :grumpy:

Always at a desk. If I tried to use a computer on my bed, I have would a neck ache in a matter of hours. Considering I average 4+ hours per sitting, I can't imagine laying on my stomach, with my head cocked back to see the screen. OUCH!

I'm sure if I had a laptop, or a PC integrated into my entertainment center, I would do more on the couch, with my feet up, kickin' it. :)
