Errr, well the 4WD chassis is the best one for offroading...they might have an MR chassis competition somewhere...

No current FIA Rally Rules permit the use of mid-engined cars, to my knowledge.

You will see the old MR cars running in club events though, particularly the seemingly immortal Metro 6R4, which is as rubbish today as it was when it came out, but it sounds great.
