oh man it's been a long time since i visited this website. its nice to be back .
even though i consider my self a rally freek, on a rally weekend like the one that just passed i don't leave the house, i have a question and i know it's kinda stupid.
back in 1995 McRae and King Carlos where team mates but what did happen between them? can somebody answer me her please.
and by the way Marcus is a great Rally driver no doubt about it and he deserves it, so is every driver in that kind of sport, only reall men compete in this kind of sport, well...... Valentino Rossi is a different issue( he's Italiano!!!)

I like the way someone says "Where have you been" when clearly it is them who have been away!

Colin & Carlos? Well, they've been together for the last two years! Good, but expensive, and I think that perhaps Carlos is losing his edge now.

I agree that Marcus is very very good. What do you think of Richard? Personally, I think he's a bit of a tosser who lucked into his championship.

i'm just kidding, burnsie iss...... how shall i say it burnsie, just another british driver whom you love to hate or hate to love but they get the job done!! i really liked hill in f1 back then, now i hate his guts. as for burnsie he's ok, he is a gentelman he respects others so others have to respect him!!

What happened between King Carlos and McRae back in 1995 when they where in the subaru team?

If memory serves me correctly, they were both fighting - hard - for the world championship. They each thought that the team would invoke orders to help them at the expense of the other. They were wrong.

However, the team did decide that it would be nice for Carlos to win his home rally, which then was the penultimate round in the series. They put personnel into the stage to measure the split times, and delay Colin if necessary.

Duly, Colin was up on Carlos at this point, so the personnel stood in the middle of the road, trying to slow him down. But he never even lifted! They jumped out of the way...

Eventually, the team persuaded Colin that this was what was going to happen, but still he wasn't happy about it. He checked in late to the service, incurring time penalties which rearranged the order so that Sainz won. And there was the amusing episode in Service where McRae swore, kicked over a bin, and then retreated to the motorhome.

Of course, in Rally GB McRae absolutely destroyed Sainz, and took the championship.

I'm starting to think Marcus is something special - I thought he fluked a significant car advantage in 2000, but he was probably unlucky last year and has been clearly the star of the (fairly handy) Peugeot crop this year - he's quick and generally pretty steady, he doesn't seem to be as prone to big accidents the way Colin is - he might be the new Makkinen.

and Makinen is the new McRae... Marcus has been the man as of the past 3 years, even if he lost the championship last year.


i can't wait to see what Valentino will do with the 206 in England. maybe WRC could be an option when the MotoGP gets boring for him?

Yes, I'm pretty much in the same boat on this one. I'd never really heard of him in 2000, so it was easy to think that it was the car, not the driver. He's got great composure, and he just seems to rack up fastest time after fastest time. And I note that he's getting on-pace with Panizzi on tarmac, which is very impressive.

And he's got a great sense of humour too! I recall his expression after a botched pit-board attempt: "Aah yes. It's our new tactic. Give the drivers the wrong information, so they drive slower than everyone else" Classic! And he ALWAYS starts sentences with "Aah yes"...

rossi is crazy and he is good, i remember in the race of champions that is held every year after the championship is over, rossi gave makinen a run for his money i mean this guy is really fast. he is good but he's crazy, i like a guy like that.
he is so good everything comes naturally for him

Tell me about it, Burns I think had the planets aligned for him last year. He's good but I don't see him winning another title.

I've been away for a very long time too! So how are you all?
I was watching Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons the whole time I was away. The series was very good, and I loved it!....only Captain Scarlet does so much and the rest does so less !
