Where's my bodyguards at?

I just noticed something. This time around in Vice City, I ain't got any bodyguards at Vercetti Mansion. You know, the guys who sit around in the little room with the bar and TV, where you can hire them?

What's up with that? I have 100% and all.

Usually leaving and coming back works for me. They'll appear sooner or later. Basically, if you don't see any of Vercetti's guys outside or in his property, the bodyguards won't pop up either since technically they are Vercetti gang members as well.

I don't think so. I haven't ONCE seen them since I got 100% a couple weeks ago. And I've been in and out of the mansion while playing all this evening.

A bug in the game methinks.

Hmmm.... That is interesting. All I can tell you is to take a stroll (walk) around your mansion or drive until one of the other islands load then go back and check if they are there, if not then you really haven't missed out on anything big. The bodygaurds are useless.

Extremely odd indeed. But Acidman is right, the bodyguards aren't that great.

I check once every few days...Sometimes they go out of the town so that doesn't bother me. Usually I kill them anyway. I've actually only used them once. They charge too much per hour for my needs, and they're too damn stupid.

I'm not really bothered. When I got 100% the first time, I just used to throw grenades at them or shot them in the head until they died. I never used them at all. I just thought it was odd that I didn't get them this time.

Maybe they remember this and are laying low??

I read somewhere that you need to have been to the first Island most recently for them to be there when you get to the mansion-- try going to the first island and straight back and check--then of course if they are there--kill the useless bast---s.

I don't even bother looking for them--when I go in the Mansion, I just fire a few rockets in the room before I head up the stairs.

It makes my slightly laugh. Other than that, I don't care.

Only if you get 100%-- they are in the trophy room to the right as you enter the mansion--

They are worthless though-- they follow you around but won't fire at someone unless you do-- So if I shoot someone with the Python--they are dead after one shot anyway, so they are shooting a dead man.

They should have made the AI that the bodygaurds shoot anyone that shoots at you--not vice versa.

They do. Go find some Haitians and when they shoot you your bodygurds will retaliate for you. They won't shoot at cops that are blasting at Tommy though. They'll fire at someone you punch while walking too.
If you want to see them really fire their Uzis take them to the Dirt Track, get in the Landstalker, they won't get in, instead they'll walk away, get out and punch one of them and then you'll see bullets fly straight at your face.

Well said.
They're so dumb that even if they are shooting at someone, one of them will probably be in front of the other 2 and get killed 'cause of the bullets fired. Not immediately, but sooner or later one of them will go down.
