Which car to use in ''Like the Wind'' lvl 21 A-SPEC Mode?

Hey guys, dumb question maybe, but are you referring to the Furai you unlock in the Amateur B-Spec race? Seems like a pretty powerful car to unlock so early. Or are you referring to something different from the used dealership?

They are referring to the B-Spec race unlock.

While the Furai is a nice car, I had already bought the Corvette and Race Modded it. After a day and a half of trying and tuning, I finally got it. For the most part, I used the tuning provided by Dotini (thanks, mate), with a few changes. I used RS tyres, and instead of max rear downforce, I used 55 - I felt this gave me a little more breathing room and made the car easier to control at higher speeds. Speaking of speed, I used a setting in the mid-240s. No assists, except ABS set at 1.

I've played the series since GT1, but I've not been as happy to have a race out of the way with as I am this one. Just seemed like every time I would get into a position to take first when I wanted, I'd get bumped or swiped, or a meteor would fall from the sky and send my car hurtling across the track. In the end, my win at Indy was dramatic. Coming around the last turn I was in the lead, but cars sprang up on both sides of me being slip-streamed by other AI. I fended them off, and won, my knuckles white on the controller. The end results were as follows:

I know this is a small win to some, but it felt like a triumph for me. Glad to have it too; some of the races in the game have been a bit easy, and I was hoping for something to spice it up a bit.

My mangy old Furai with 1,000,000 in damage absolutely crushed Like the Wind at both Indy and Daytona in the first complete try. It's crazy to spend an additional penny when you can use the Furai for free as a prize car.

Sounds great. Finishing up the race to get the Furai as we speak. Can't wait to get back to the A-Spec and try it out. Thanks!!

This is not working for me at all. I'm driving great, only managed second on Daytona because I knocked half of the pack off the track on the first lap. I lose about half a second on each lap to the lead car. I get in the infield and these guys accelerate so much faster than me.

Thanks, Dotini! Took me a bit to get the Daytona, but I won the Indy on my first try, even got hammered right at the finish line. Won by .041.

Hi Guys,

I did both events with the ZR-1 RM, not even tuned to the max. Highly reccommend the car not only for these eventss. You can Gold alnost anything with it - great in both handling and accelleration. Good downforce adjustability as well.

Absolutely demolished Daytona, even with a couple of mistakes.
Indy was a little bit tricky (not fully tuned) but not especially hard. You should increase the downforce just enough to corner (almost) full speed, but not more. Some strategic driving and blocking might be necessary as well.

Another reccommendation for the Vette. I hope this hepls.

i too did this with the zr-1. Dayytona was cake but indy was a little tricky and i used this guys advice with the downforce and wow what a difference...i did have to block off 2 on the last stretch tho...luckily it was a guy closer on the right which i kind of pinned into the wall and the just blocked the other guy coming up on the left. All i did was increase the rear downforce to 60 and front to 30. Also, my camber in the front is set at 2.5.

thx chaosdd

Well well...take a gander at what I found in the wonderful world of Wikipedia...

"The Furai (風籟 Fūrai?), meaning "sound of the wind", is the fifth and last of the Mazda Nagare line of concept cars that have been made by Mazda since 2006...."

"Like the Wind"

:sly:

Did Daytona easily in a fully tuned TommyKaira ZZII with a wing for added downforce. Had trouble with Indianapolis for a while, but managed to win it easily with a fully modded stealth McLaren F1 (though I assume a regular F1 will be fine as well). Just make sure to crank up the downforce for the front and rear and extend the final gear ratio for a higher top speed.

So I just now beat Like The Wind...after 100,000 attempts at the Daytona race. My ZR1 (RM) finally came out of it's shell and did what it needs to do. I want to thank RKM Motorsports for the tune. If you were all here with me I'd buy everyone beer. I will never do that event again, and when GT6 comes out, I'm going to shoot a hole through the part of the disc that "like the wind" is contained on.

Pescarolo Courage C60 and Pescarolo C60 Hybride...**** you both for bumping me off the track 99,992 times. Now you can all suck it.

That is all.

Dude you don't even know...I've been doing that ****ing race for a week...STUCK. I had even abandoned all hope and attempted to grind my B-Spec driver until I either got enough money to buy a LMP car, or I reached level 35 and got the X1.

Then I decided to give my ZR1 (RM) another shot. It took me about 4 hours today of trying over and over and over and over again. I finally did it. What an abomination of an event. Some kid in Japan is going to kill himself over this event. Damn you PD...damn you.

I finished the Daytona race with my tuned Tommy Kayra ZII, but I get slaughtered on the corners. I'm not sure what's the best setup for an oval, but I tried getting the gear ratio to 370 km/h, cambers to 1.5 front and .5 rear, ride height at lowest and suspension at stiffest. Any suggestions on the car adjustments? The other car I have is the Veyron, but it seems to be pretty useless on the corners.

following your suggest
power up to maximum the veyron soft slick tires at daytona won by 5 - 6 second

bought the vette rm + everything (i don't now why but after 3 races the HP are now 900) won by 4 seconds a indianapolis

When you say "slaughtered on the corners," what exactly do you mean? Are you breaking, or are you getting hit? If I knew exactly what was happening, I might be able to help.

Assuming you are fully tuned - you might try adjusting your down-force a bit to help in the corners. While some advocate a max setting for both, I found I needed to lower my back end some, as I was getting muddy in the corners. On my ZR1 (RM), I was set to 55 out of 60 on the back which allowed me more fluidity at high speeds while my front end was still pressed to the trap.

Additionally, what, if any, assists are you using? At Indy they should all be off, with the exception of ABS, which I left at 1 (though you probably should never be breaking in any serious fashion anyway).

This race is definitely difficult for some of us, or those without "proper" race cars up until this point. If you can give any more info, I (and I am sure others) will do what I can to help.

Edit: Looking at your tune, you might want to up the speed a bit. When I did it, my transmission was tuned to hit around 389-395 km/h (242-246 mp/h). I found that, if I tuned any lower, I was topping out on the straight aways and losing room going into a corner. Additionally, while getting drafted, I was hitting speeds of around 378 km/h or higher.

The ZR-1 RM of Racing Softs is fantastic... a good car for Like the Wind, adds a bit of excitement.

The Corvette Race Mod. Cost ~700k. I only "just" beat daytona, I had to block on the last lap.

The Minolta you win is SOOOOO much better than the Corvette RM.

Thanks for the reply, and sorry for taking so long to re-reply.

Maybe I exaggerated a bit. I can keep up the pace on the straight, but on the corner they pass me easily. I try to brake lightly and reduce to 5th gear (which seems to be all the car can handle) and accelerate in the middle of the turn. So basically I need some more cornering power to keep it up.

I set the downforce to maximum, which is 15 / 35. Although it makes sense to take some from the back. Also, I set the power distribution to be 90 back and 10 front.

Just ABS on 1.

I wasn't topping it, but then I couldn't draft because my exit speed from the corner was poor.

Thank you very much Dotini! This setup is fantastic! I just completed both events and it worked like a charm. It took some practice, but I got it quickly. Thank you for sharing your set up! It is much appreciated!

Vroom vroom!

Here's my input... First off, I'll openly admit that I'm a noob driver, for this race I used a Peugot 908 HDi which was given to me and that seemed to do the job. From what I've experienced on the Indy track, if you can run a 44 seconds or less lap with whatever car you chose to use in this race, you will do just fine and won't have to worry about blocking any of your opponents. Now as for Daytona, depending how much torque your car produces and it's braking abilities, you should be able to into 1st or 2nd (at the very least) before the first turn just from passing on the outside of the pack. Once you're in front of the pack you should do just fine, as long as you don't hit the wall or slide into the grass for more than a second. For Daytona I had my transmission set for 236 MPH/ 378 KM/H, whereas for Indy my transmission was set to 262 MPH/ 419 KM/H. I hope this helps anyone who's attempting to complete these races.

I won this event with the '89 Mercedez Sauber C9 Race Car. Got gold on Indy on the first try, and Daytona on the 2nd. The Sauber is a handfull, but once you learn to master it, it is absolutely awesome.

You can complete Daytona with the Veyron and you can complete Indy with the Chaparral 2D Race Car '67. I think I did the Polyphony Digital Cup with that car as well. It was NOT easy and neither was INDY but it beats paying millions of dollars for some other car.

This is probably the hardest point of the game besides buying a Forumla GT car. I choose to work with what I had.

To win Indy you will need to tune the cars gearing perfectly do a lot of drafting then once in first place you will need to block the other cars when they draft off of you. After blocking them they will hit you HARD which will give you a huge burst of speed. Keep doing that for a few minutes and you'll be good to go.

I did both with the Furai. I think all that was available for upgrade was the chassis reinforcement. So... I spent 30,000 credits. :)

Nice đź‘Ť

I thought about using that car for the entire event but didn't bother to look into how much I'd have to spend on the Furai.
