Which car to use in ''Like the Wind'' lvl 21 A-SPEC Mode?

The Furai is a free car for winning the Amateur Roadster event in B-Spec.

That's the same way I got mine, the only reason why I didn't use it was because I already had a Peugot 908 HDi. I figured I'd try that first if I had no luck, the Furai and C6ZR1 RM were both on standby.:)

Hey, those guys saying they won the indianapolis event in like the wind with the corvette zr1;

How much does it cost to get it fully modded?? and is it easy to win the indianapolis race or should i save up my money for the Peugeot LMP1???

Indy was super easy with tuned ZR1-RM. Daytona was a bit tougher but I eventually golded both.

Now ripping through GT All Stars with ease with the car won by golding Like The Wind :D

The Minolta 88C-V is crazy crazy fast 1040hp 850kg thats 1.22hp/kg vs the Veyron @ .88hp/kg that means the Veyron only has 72% of the power to weight ratio of the Minolta.

ITS NUTS

Most rewarding reward in the entire game!

I have been trying the Indy with both ZR1 RM and the Furai, and each time I either get clipped and spin out or just lose by the other cars just burning me out. I have been up since 7, and its been 4 hours now and the highest place I have come is 9th -_-

did this with the 09 zr1 race modded, was super easy. several sec ahead in both events. i didnt even tune it that much. at indy all i did was raise the gear ratio for higher top speed. dont brake in the corners just lift off and huge the inside groove. maintained about 190-195 in the corners.

Don't you have to spend a fortune on upgrading the Furai first.. it looks pretty weedy at stock, compared to the other cars in that race.

I just unlocked the race last night and got toasted in B-Spec! :(

I used the Furai and won both races. Thanks to DOTINI's suggestion here, I spruced up my Miata and let my Bspec driver win it for me.

Both races are difficult because all the cars are extremely fast and you will only win by a split second. I had to polish up my driving skills. I found that letting up on the gas for a millisecond just before the turns would get me to first place a lot faster. The problem was, staying in 1st place was not wasy. I would get bumped out to the wall and sent flying.

I finally decided to stay closer to the inside all the way and that finally got me through.

Thanks to all of you for your help and suggestions.

My mangy old Furai with 1,000,000 in damage absolutely crushed Like the Wind at both Indy and Daytona in the first complete try. It's crazy to spend an additional penny when you can use the Furai for free as a prize car.

Here's my setup:

Ride Height-------------0 / 0
Springs-----------------13.0 (F) / 11.0 (R)
Dampers (Ext'n)-------7 (F) / 4 (R)
Dampers (comp)-------7 (F) / 4 (R)
Anti-Roll Bars-----------4 / 2
Camber------------------1.8 (F) / 1.2 (R)
Toe-----------------------0.00 (F) / 0.60 (R)
LSD----------------------15/50/25
Brakes-------------------6/3
Downforce---------------Maximum F & R

Speed/gears
Indy...........................236
Daytona......................224

TCS
Indy...........................0
Daytona......................7

Tires
Indy............................SS
Daytona.......................RS

At Indy, keep your foot down all the way: never lift.
Daytona, follow the line and don't make too many mistakes.

You were right on! I left the field and never looked back! The Furai just pulled away from the pack and I never saw another car the rest of the race. Keys to success is to be smooth in the corners, don't let up and don't pinch the corners. Oh and don't use the brakes.

Thanks a bunch for the tune!!!!

No idea how you guys are doing All Stars and Like the Wind using the Furai; I get left behind off the grid and subsequently every corner and straight. Don't even get me started on the Zonda... ;.;

At least I didn't pay for them, but I'm really loathing the idea of yet another game becoming little more than a friggin' grind-fest only to fail hard coz the guy hot on my ass is freaking me out and/or bumping me off the track. Needs a difficulty setting plz.

I just completed them with a Stealth GTR GT500, with every mod available. Downforce was maxed out and stretched the gears out to 260. It was a wild ride very hard to control that car at the limit, but it is so much fun. I also got my 111m/s trophy while at Indy after I got a good bump.

I managed to win both the Like the Wind Races with my Dodge Viper Team Oreca. I got lucky and won that car from the 1000 ticket. :)

Racing soft and bumped up all the upgrades I could. Daytona was actually easier than Indy. On Indy they kept ramming me when I was in the lead and purposely spun me out so many times that I was wishing I could carry a shotgun in the passenger seat to discourage these jerks from messing with me. :(

Once I won and got the Minolta, I went back and did the All Stars championship easily.

used the Furai with Dotini's settings...thank you :)

Took me about 30 attempts at it...it's probably the most satisfying race ive had on GT5 so far. You have to concentrate otherwise you're screwed!

Hello, i won the indianapolis race with the zr1 rm, i dont really know how much it costs to get fully modded as i got it on a trade, anyway it is quite easy if you stay in the back till lap 4/5 and then get ahead on the last 2 turns.

Tried the ZR1 as everyone has been suggesting and it was a real eye-opener. Never expected it to kick off like it did. It takes a bit of getting used to, so grab a few trial runs on the track and try to make a similar tune to what's listed in this thread (https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=136110). Gonna try this out on All-Stars later if I find I can't control the Minolta.

Daytona took a few race-quits to get a workable line-up but I eventually nailed it. Follow the line and just let loose the accelerator if you're veering outward and then press it down to fix back into a good position. I didn't get too much grief from the opponents but I still really feel this game need a major AI overhaul in a coming patch - one bump and you're out, and there's plenty of them.

I've been searching on here and trying out setups and none of them are working.

I tried with the ZR1 RM with everything else put on it and soft racing tires. I used a few setups I found searching on here and the best I did was 3rd place on the oval track.

I tried the Mazda Furai with a few setup tunes I found on here and none of them worked.

I tried the veyron and it just can't keep up in the corners.

The last car I have that I can even think of that would contest in this is the Zonda R.

Any tips or will anyone loan me a car? I got a few good trades and I'm level 21 with 2,941,018 credits.

Well the zr1 rmed worked just fine for me.. stay behind 1st place all race and then on the final lap overtake him and block him to the finish line :sly:

I passed on Like The Wind, won the Dream Car CHampionship (lvl 24), it's relatively easy. For winning I got a Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II, tuned it all the way and won Like The Wind :)

Daytona is lots easier because the Bugatti can be fully taken advantage of on the high banked corners. You will lose time in the infield but you will gain more than enough on the speedway corners to offset the losses. If it suits you best, you can cut through the grass at the bus-stop chicane on the backstraight.
