Which car to use in ''Like the Wind'' lvl 21 A-SPEC Mode?

Daytona is lots easier because the Bugatti can be fully taken advantage of on the high banked corners. You will lose time in the infield but you will gain more than enough on the speedway corners to offset the losses. If it suits you best, you can cut through the grass at the bus-stop chicane on the backstraight.

Yeah, I tried out the veyron and I'm first place by the first corner and can just mosey my way around while blocking them, then when I hit the straight a ways I'm gone. I was doing good until the 3rd lap where I was going into the first corner and hit the rail sticking out flipping my car lol. I took a deep breath, set the paddle down and made myself breakfast. I'm back for round 2 =p.

EDIT: I won! Yes, so happy =p.

Im trying to find a car to win the race in B spec and i cant find. McLaren, ZR1, Pagani Zonda, all failed in B Spec. My A spec is lvl 14 atm and i cant win the minolta :( i have like 4.3 mils cash and not sure if i must buy a bmw gtr formula car or pejo or something else to do that race :( need help!

My b-spec driver could not win Like the Wind Indy with the Escudo, but won the other race in Like the wind easily with it. I have been trying to tune the Escudo and the RM'd ZR1 for the Indy race and both are able to finish 3rd...with luck. The ZR1 is able to overtake with drafting...barely, but once he gets in the lead, there is just not enough speed to leave the pack. Eventually another car drafts him and overtakes easily. The Escudo dominates all other cars in the corner, but with a max speed of 212ish on the straights, everything flys by him on straights.

I was saving for a Formula Gran Tourismo when I bought the Escudo for 1.9million. I should have continued to save. The FTG should be able to easily win this race (assuming it can enter...which I think it can) or any race. You also need the FGT for a race that is only for FGT's anyway. So, save a bit more and read up on how to buy it in the used car lot.

tried both with the veyron and furai with bob and he sucks. I might be able to win the indy with him if I adjust the aero and tranny more, but no way on the veyron. He brakes way too soon, and way too long and can't break free of the initial 6 pack in front and lets the back pack blow past him. Once again I'll need to get a car that's 200% better than the comp for bob to pass these courses.

I used a Zonda R. My b-spec couldn't complete it using the Zonda though, but I obliterated the competition. Just have to be careful with handling the zonda. It has a greater tendency to oversteer then the other race cars. It is still a class below the grid.

I got Gold on all of the Like The Wind events first try, and by a LOOOOONG ways. I used the Nomad Diablo GT-1 that I won with soft racing tires and made a few suspension and downforce adjustments. Like taking Candy from a baby! Plus for getting golds I won a Toyota Minolta Race car that with a few mods is putting down over 1000HP.

I used the Veyron on the road course. Took some practice, but I won they 2nd time through. Stay close to the leader, overtake on final lap. And I used the Zonda R 09 not the Indy track.

I used the Corvette ZR1 RM. These are the steps I did.

Step.. uhg.. Buy a Corvette ZR1 from Dealerships... (Obviously)
Step 1.
Before done any modification, go to GT Auto, and buy the Racing Modification for the ZR1 (it's around 350.000Cr)
Step 2.
Go to Tunning shop, and buy all parts that can be added to the ZR1 (I think you only can buy step 1 and step 2 from Engine Modification, Intake system, and supercharger) After that, the ZR1 should hit almost 900HP.
Step 3.
Go to Practice mode, and take a run in Indy track (The same track that appears in Like the wind Event, of course)
Step 4.
Once you are in the menu where you can start practicing, go to Car adjust.
In Body/Chassis section, adjust aerodinamics in the max value, in front and rear as well.
In Transmission System section, adjust the top speed to 390Km/h (Or 240mph)
Step 5.
Run. Now the ZR1 can take Indy corners at 300Km/h (Or 190mhp) or even higher. At the begginning, you can use drafting to overtake your oponents. Once you hit 1st place, you should get a little dirty, and watch out your oponents through your rear mirror, and don't let them pass.

If you do all things above described, plus a dirty, but carefully driving, you will take the prize!:sly:

My mangy old Furai with 1,000,000 in damage absolutely crushed Like the Wind at both Indy and Daytona in the first complete try. It's crazy to spend an additional penny when you can use the Furai for free as a prize car.

Here's my setup:

Dotini, I owe you bigtime. Thanks for the setup tips - I'd been pulling my hair out (what little there is left of it) trying to win these races. I finally pulled off Indy (by 0.042 seconds) on my own, but couldn't get the handling right in Daytona. Thanks so much!

I did it in ford GT lm spec 2 with everything tuned up. Ididint had to block them at all i had about 2 sec gap from the car behind me.

YES! I just won the two races for "Like the wind." I used what this thread has taught me. I used Veyron for the first race and I barely gassed on the corners. I made sure I got second place in the first corner that came up, and then I pulled away on the straight away and remained first place. Just don't screw up on any of the corners by gassing into the grass. Then I used corvette zr1 RM for the second race, and it was tough! It took me many tries to get the concept of drafting and passing them on the turn. It was frustrating and took me many tries on both of the races.

Get the Corvette ZR1, install race mod, max out aero settings, set top speed to 249 mph, win race easily. I had absolutely no trouble flogging the field like this.

I have beaten Like the Wind, with the following:

-Mazda Furai Concept
-Minolta Toyota 88C-V
-GT By Citroen Concept '08
-Ford GT LM Spec II Race Car
-NOMAD Diablo

It's easier than it looks, i have even tried the Bugatti, but on the Indianapolis, the Bugatti simply doesn't work.

I've done it a coupla different ways just to experiment in A-Spec. Each way was tough but by no means impossible. 'Vette Rm. Veyron & Furai.

B-Spec, the 'Vette was outta the question with my level 19ish Dingy. With the right setup and some coaxing he was able to gold both with the Veyron & Furai.

A & B Spec, setup matters here. With the right setup, the Furai sticks like glue in the corners at Indy, never letting up on the throttle and keeping speed in the teens. The pack caught up to me on the typical rubberbanding laps (just before halfway and just before the end) but never really challenged for the lead. That's what you're looking for here. You don't need absolute top speed on the straights at Indy (though it's gotta be up there), but you've gotta carry as much speed as possible through the turns. Daytona is almost the opposite. The average GT 5 player is not likely to create a ton of space in the infield, no matter what they drive. So you need to dominate on the banking.

If I remember correctly, I won A-Spec with the Furai on both tracks. B-Spec was a joke, I did it with the Formula GT. :sly:

Beat both with the Zonda R. 956 hp with fully upgraded EVERYTHING and oil changed. I had to increase the top speed in the tranny.

Down force increased F to 34, B to 59
Top speed to 249
R-Soft tires

Tried with the Mazda but I guess my skills weren't good enough.

My thumb hurts. I was doing the lean while turning too. LOL.

Corvette ZR1.

Okay, I bought the ZR1, got the RM done on it and tuned it on everything, plus added racing soft tyres. Meant I had about 890BHP in the end.

And yet...went onto the Indy event with great hope and expectations, and got completely and utterly hammered by the LMP cars! Then tried Daytona, which went every so slightly better...was able to get into second position, but then the car seems terrible under braking - just spins out!

Anyone able to suggest what the problems I'm experienced might be? I'm going to try the setup mentioned in this link - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=145198&highlight=ZR1+Tune - but that seems to only be for the Indy event, although if that works I'd simply have to grind I guess until I'm able to afford a LMP car perhaps?

I'd be very grateful for any suggestions. It is by far the most frustrating event I've experienced in the game so far!
