Which car to use in ''Like the Wind'' lvl 21 A-SPEC Mode?

I have the Furai and have tried this guide posted by the OP. The best I've managed to do is come in 4th place on the 2nd race for like the wind at the Indy track. I have the car tuned and maxed out and have also adjusted the downforce to 25 front & 50 rear. The problem I'm having is that no matter how hard I try I can't maintain max speed without hitting the wall causing me to slow down or the AI causing me to spin out during this race.

A friend of mine also suggested to turn downforce all the way up and to adjust the Ride Height Adjustment to all the way down for front & rear.

Either way on both adjustment and settings on the tuning I just can get it done and I'm about to start just farming money and leveling up by racing Polyphony Digital cup with Veyron a couple times until I have about 4 or 5 million credits saved up and buy a peugeot 908 HDI or Ford GT LM Spec Test Car.

OP are you using a racing wheel or managed to get this done with the Dual Shock 3 PS3 controller?

Thats odd, with oil change and fully upgraded mines only at 560 hp.

Same, mines at 561BHP.

Just did the Superspeedway-Indy "Like the Wind" first attempt after some painfully boring races with my good from Bob to get the Furai and I managed to win it by 1.46 seconds :')

Top Speed was set to 242mph and Downforce was 30 Front 55 Rear.

Racing Soft Tires (Obviously) and I only have TCS on at 3, all other Driving Options were off.

No need to brake in the corners, just follow the driving line and you can maintain 200mph+ throughout the race, just be sure to keep an eye on the rear-view mirror for cars coming up behind you in the first 2 laps.

I have now just completed the Daytona "Like the Wind" on first attempt, seriously good guide here, use the Bugatti! It decimates all on the open straights and standing acceleration. Just make sure you brake on time and you will do fine. Beat the event by 5.55 seconds :)

Your recipe is great!!! I followed your guide/advise and had no problems, well some :P - I got the Furai as you suggested and actually entered the All Stars race with it and won the championship. I would have won 5/5, but I failed to increase the top speed at Nurburgring, I was caught and passed at the end of the straight, finished 4th. In Tokyo I placed 7th, mainly because I can't see anything in that track due to the shadows contrast, crashed while second and had to work my way back to 7th from last. Having won the other 3 races quite easily, I got the championship :) The Furai should have been a Premium car, it is awesome!

In Gone Like the Wind, I won the 1st race on the Furai, I only managed 2nd in the oval. I will keep trying today, I should get it eventually.

cwm33, your guide and effort in sharing this information and your experience is much appreciated! 👍👍👍

Yeah thats how it is for me, no matter how i tune the Furai, it keeps sliding out to the wall, instead of going all out and sticking with the downforce on the corners.

I guess I'll just have to do it with another car, can;t seem to place it like everyone else is getting.

Hello good people of GTP.

I currently have 1.5 million credits and am willing to grind for a car, I was wondering if buying something along the lines of a viper acr and tuning it fully would do well against these lemans cars or if I should save up for longer.

My veyron with 1200 bhp and 1400 kg weight couldn't do anything.

Thanks

Just for the fun of it, I bought a Challenger R/T '70 and race modded it, tuned it to nearly 800HP, fooled around with the tuning settings (which I don't fully understand yet), and while the car could hang with the pack, speed-wise, the thing just wouldn't turn... there was NO grip on the front wheels, unless I was braking hard. Needless to say, I came in last (i.e. everyone was so far ahead, I just quit). At least I got the RM trophy, and I've got a cool premium RM Challenger now :D lol

Not sure which way I'm going to handle this race... my B-spec is only at level 3, and I'm low on cash. I'm only one level away from the Polyphony digital cup, at which point I can use that to make some quick dough and level up quicker. In the end, I may just save up to buy a race car, or if I get lucky, I'll get one in a ticket. Of course, I see tons of race cars in the used lot now that I can't afford them :D lol

I'm currently working with a Ford GT with Medium Race tires, moderate engine mods (upper 600hp range), full weight reduction, wing, and slight suspension mods. This wasn't QUITE enough - I can usually JUST keep pace with near gold medal laps, but not going to cut it.

I was surprised because I used a stock Ford GT w/ just race mediums and an oil change, and I destroyed the GT World Championship (last "Professional Level" race series), including like 45 seconds at the 'ring. The car easily passed the 7:00 mark.

I'm going to put the blower on it, max out the NA tune, go to full suspension, and upgrade the tranny/drivetrain. Hopefully that's enough FTW - it probably should be. I only need to go about 1-2s faster/lap at Daytona, and all those mods should take off 3-4s/lap.

Bugatti for the Daytona race worked just fine for me, with about 5 seconds left to spare at the end. Tuned ZR1 RM for the Indy race with the top speed set to 242 mph

I did it with the Driving Force GT wheel, I imagine it's do-able with a DS3, but you have to be VERY smooth and fluid in your movements, no sudden jerkiness.

I love driving my Furai so it has probably gotten a lot more 'engine break in' time than yours has. Seems to be related to that.

You're most welcome, glad I could be of some help! :D

That thing turns like an absolute BARGE, you probably COULD find a way to make it handle it through dropping the ride height to the ground, maxing the downforce, and playing with the spring rates but that's definitely not the easiest solution lol.

For those of you having trouble with the Furai, re-read the bottom part of my original post, I added another section there about using the Corvette ZR1, along with a rather good tuning for it. It's able to hang with the race cars quite easily and can post better lap times than the Furai, just costs some credits to obtain!!

Just managed to get 1st place in like the wind at Daytona with the Furai, can only manage 2nd at the Indy circuit, what was your tune and set-up on the Furai for the Indy race?

I really cant do either of these, if i do get in front the car come up behind and push me off the road, i have the Firai but theyre acceleration is much better than mine any tips on what cars to use with what setup?

ZR1 RM lowered all the way with the trans set at top speed did it for me easy on the like the wind. There you will win the minolta and use it in the all star race

I had Racing Softs on my Bugatti, as far as tune goes it was completely default from the tune shop, I didn't touch a thing.

If you want to try out a different tune, here's one by greatest335i from this thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=136110

I personally haven't tried it, so I can't vouch for it, but you might have some luck with it! ;)

get at LEAST sports soft tires on it, and waste about 90,000ish credits bringing the horsepower on it up to around 260ish.

Appreciate the post and your advice, but the event is restricted to sports hard tires so buying the soft was a waste of my money because it then defaulted me back to comfort soft. Bob still won the race comfortably though. So don't bother with the tire upgrade!

cheers it doesnt seem that bad normal, but i can get 2nd going up to 1st corner but then the guy in 1st stays in top and its hard to break while staying 2nd so i can get 3rd after first corner, after that the front 2 pull away, any tips?

Have you tried the ZR1, is it easier to do with that?

The Zonda R works very well on Daytona and will do on Indy with the right strategy. On the Indy track stay to the inside on the straights so they do not draft off you, hit you from behind or pass you and brake in front.

Thanks, you helped alot, just did it, worst 9 mins, i just bought some acceleration parts, got the the front and acceleration kept me in front, the bugatti isnt as bad as people make out

How hard is the NASCAR event btw?

And has everyone left the toyota you win at stock or tuned it up to win all stars?

Corvette ZR1 (C06) '09 Race modified. Will destroy. Use the search function, there's already a thread about this with setups.

absolutely loving the furai! it's a crying shame that it's not a premium car...would to see what it's like from the cockpit...won the veyron and tried that out in an online race on top gear track...bone stock it handled like crap to me, had to slow down to a crawl to make it turn...maybe with a proper tune/mods it will be better

Minolta Toyota race car 89 worked for me, you pretty much have to drive a faultless race as one slight error and they fly past you.

Just did it, well chuffed,

erm, so on nascar, are they easy enough?

And what do i use for the all stars?
The Toyota i won isnt fast enough, not tuned it is it faster than the other cars when tuned?

Mazda Furai Concept '08 which you get from b-spec at a pretty low level, think it's level 8 roadster race. You can do all-stars race pretty easy and like the wind first race too, but you'll have to knock out some for your first place on the second race of Like the Wind (just get first and block them when they want to pass you if you're into that :P).

Also try to tune it as much as you can because you'll need it!
