Which File sharing Program to use?

Ok, I know that this topic pops up every few months, but I wanted to know what is currently the best as it is subject to change.
I need a wedding song that is pretty rare, so I want to avoid installing a pop-up nightmare because after I have the song, I won't be using the program again.
Is Kazaa, Morpheus, or Limewire (or whatever else is around ) the best of the bunch? What has the most, what is the most invasive to your PC etc etc...

I also use, well I don't but my wife uses WinMX. It's pop-up free and a small download to install. I can't remember the port assignments, but you'll have to open up a TCP and a UDP port on your router.

Happy hunting..., and beware of the Net Honky Tonks...

:D

for a list of port assignments on popular P2P programs....

Thanks for the input, I used WinMX and was able to get the song. I might even consider leaving it on my system for future uses.... (I'm not particularly big on MP3's unless I'm adding songs to my Xbox.)
:)
👍

I use Kazaa Lite++ or something like that. It'll keep on searching until you tell it to stop, not when it wants to.

i use kazaa lite and diet kaza and they are better than whatever i've used before, they don't seem to have any pop ups or stuff like that so it's all good.

You don't need to forward ports or anything for the routers, my dad runs WinMX the same time I run WinMX(when I do, which is not often at all) and it works fine, just doesn't run the fastest, but when most of the people can't upload too fast, what can you expect....

I'm starting to give up on file-sharing programs. I don't know, I just think that the only things I should download are legally free things, maybe Linux has cursed me.....

I was more or less speaking of opening up a port within his firewall to allow TCP/UDP connections to occur on the ports that WinMX listens and responds on.

Kazaa isn't very good for MP3 files, because the program itself doesn't allow searches for high quality MP3 files. If you think WinMX "sucks", then you need to go get a clue.

I might try IRC later today.

I don't like WinMX. I might give it another shot though. I hear it's better for MP3s...

i use freewire -ok
direct connect -better
kazaa lite -better
but im thinking of using kazaa lowfat, or kazaa anorexic

I use Kazza. I've been thinking of switching to Kazza Light. To many pop up adds with normal Kazza and some even freeze up and lead to Non Responsive programs. Damn you XP and all your problems. I need a Mac!
