My Dad and I were arguing last night. I mentioned that I would love to have a Supra and my dad (who's a huge Nissan fan) said that he would rather have a 350 Z. We got to arguing about which is faster and of course we each took the side of our car. So would the experts or owners of either car please speak up and help settle our dispute:confused: :D :D

Thanks to whoever moved my post. Now i'll have to wait a week for a freakin' reply.:irked: :irked: Not mad but like the title of the smilie says I'm just iriked....very irked...:irked: :irked:

Oh boo hoo.

I'd have thought a Supra would have been quicker - it's more powerful and I think it weighs less.

Heh - just stirring.

I doubt they're really competitors - the 350Z's a true 2+2, whilst the Supra runs a very small cabin. It's the old Grand Tourer vs Sports Car debate

Always depends. a 350Z vs a twin turbo MKIV Supra, the Supra wins hands down. 350Z vs a normally aspirated Supra, i'd go with the 350Z.

Unless Dennis Walsh is the driver of the MKIV.;)

I think you're confusing the 350Z with the G35 Coupe. As for weight & power:

Supra, N/A: 3,265 lbs.__225 HP__138 HP/ton__6.4s 0-60
http://www.edmunds.com/used/1998/to...l?tid=edmunds.u.prices.leftsidenav..6.Toyota*

Supra, tt: 3,445 lbs.__320 HP__186 HP/ton__4.9s 0-60
http://www.edmunds.com/used/1998/to...l?tid=edmunds.u.prices.leftsidenav..6.Toyota*

350Z: 3,188 lbs.__287 HP__180 HP/ton__5.6s 0-60
http://www.edmunds.com/new/2003/nis...l?tid=edmunds.n.prices.leftsidenav..8.Nissan*

In a straight line, the results here are pretty obvious. Just don't ask the Supra (in stock form) to do as well as the 350Z on an autocross track. ;)

350z has much more low end power i think. that is how an e30 325 actually beats an m3. auto x is only 1st and 2nd gears. Goto a track, where the gears have a chance to be stretched out, and the m3 will be in "the zone". haha, that wwas a good one, two meanings, haha.

no, both e30 chassis. the 325 has a 2.5 liter 6. the m3 has a 2.3 liter 4. the m3s motor has better top end, where it matters on a track. but on an autox, GRM clocked the 325 faster. This was with modifications to both, but they were pretty evenly matched.

Mmm - I'm pretty comfortable with what I posted. I would consider the G35 as more of a luxury coupe, along the lines of the old E-Class coupes Mercedes did before they went with four eyes on the E-Class. I know they share floorpans and basic hardware.

I thought the 350Z would be heavier than the Supra, so there you go.

Yes, the G35 is more of a luxury coupe (or sporty four-door, depending on whether you're talking about the G35 Sedan or G35 Coupe), but the 350Z is definitely a two-seater only.

(Look for "Maximum Seating".)

(Uhh, "true 2+2" is what you said, right?)

No, M5, I've seen about 4 350Zs on the road here down under, the first one being around January of this year, and the last one being in the school holidays, about a fortnight or more ago. :D

this is gtplanet. why not post a challenge, supra tt vs. z concept. Its not the most accurate, but would be a fun way to settle this.
