I'm going to the Britcar at Donington this weekend. I was just wondering where the best view is. I was thinking Old Hairpin but I don't really know.

Also let me know if your going.

Sorry, can't help.. never been, I was told somewhere near the bottom of the hill on the far side of the track gives you a good view for a while, but I can't personally vouch for this.

edit: just checked my Donny map, yep.. the place I was recommended was the Old Hairpin

I always go about halfway down the Craner Curves, so you can see them come from the 1st corner and go past, then go round Old Hairpin and under the bridge.

Hmm... Didn't think of there, but that is where I will be, it sounds great!

If you can still get to it, with all the building work that's been going on there, i'd say the Old Hairpin is the best place. You get a great view of the cars coming down through the Craner Curves, through the Old Hairpin and then back up towards Starkey's Bridge. You may even catch a glimpse of them going up the hill towards Coppice too (not sure if you still can with all the earth moved.)

The banking on the infield alongside the exit of the Goddards chicane is also worth checking out (as long as they haven't built temporary stands there) You get a view of the cars coming down the back straight, through the chicane, and down the start/finish straight (with a gap in between whilst they do the Melbourne Loop if it's the full circuit) Crowds permitting, from that banking you should also be able to see most of the action from between McLean's and Coppice too at the far end of the circuit.

I have never been to donnington. However from watching races on tv there I guess Craner curves. However if its a endurance race (which britcar is if I'm not mistaken) then you could just move around to different places. Like the old hairpin.
