which one do you like most?

For me it wouldn't be easy... i would doubt between the C32 or the S4.... think i would go for the S4 because of the great v8 and quattro

For a single drive I would go in the M3, but if I were to live with the car, I'd go with the Audi.

This is my thinking exactly. The M3 is a bit too cramped and harsh to drive every day. It also seems a bit much to drive around town. The Audi's bottomless torque makes it easy to putter around parking lots. Still, the M3 should be a far more rewarding drive, with more sensation in the shiftknob than the Audi has in its entire chassis.

Which do I like the most? The M3. It's by far the better driver's car than either the Merc or Audi. The Merc just doesn't do it for me; something about that truck-like parking brake pedal.... Audi could have done something special with the new S4, picking up where BMW's M3 GTR wanted to be, but dead dynamics and too much understeer quell all excitement. And isn't excitement what you want from a sports car?

For daily use the S4 has to be the best choise... rain, snow, bad surface... you always have sublime traction and great driving feeling.... If you want to put the M3 GTR against an A4 you'll just have to wait for an RS4...Still these cars aren't really comparable.... racingcoupe agains 4*4 supersedan OR estate.

Audi S4 beat the M3 round the Top Gear test track by just about 1s in 1'30.

I go with the M3, not surprisingly - my current circumstances make perfect use of it, and it's a wonderful car to drive.

Oh, right! Duh. There was reason I liked Audi....

I don't know about the S4 being faster on corners. My experience with Quattro is that it's highly prone to understeer. That may have been fixed on the '03 S4, though. I do remember seeing more pictures of the M3 in four-wheel-drift than the S4, but that doesn't include rallying.

The S4 definately is faster in corners! They say it everywhere... Maybe if you watched Top Gear last sunday you could see that the S4 is a lot faster in corners.

besides the a-class, and the ml, mercedes have the most beautiful range of cars in the world. i dont think the c34 should be in the poll but the e55 since that is a real contender to the m3. the m3 might be the best car for fun there but it is intensely ugly and i would rather not be seen in one. i would pick the audi if i was going rallying and the e55 for everything else. (there's one near my uni and it looks the BOMB). but out of that poll i choose the audi.

Hmm... the E55 isn't really a fair compair to the S4..You should compare it with the RS6 and M5...totaly different category

i dunno about that, u may be right but i've heard stories of the sl55 being beaten by the m5, since the sl55 is better than the e55, i thought it was a valid comparison. is there a c55? there IS a c43...

My point was : can you compare an Audi A4 with an E-class or 5 series?!I think not. It's in the cat. of the C-class and the 3 series.

No, see. The SL55 is much larger and heavier, not to mention, not aimed at the same people.

The BMW M5, Audi RS6, and Mercedes E55 are all the same size and are competing for basically the same title, which is best super-sedan in the world. The BMW M3, Audi S4, Mercedes C32, etc. compete for the same title, but on a lesser, 'money-is-an-object' level.

fair enough, but my point was more performance related. the C32 doesn't stand ANY chance against those two monsters. whereas the E55 does. (though it may still be beaten since those two are _that_ good)

dunno about the c43 though, anyone have some info?
