PS3 version is top of the pre-order charts on almost every retail site here in UK.

Anyway, the PS3 version on those comparison shots have been altererd. Look at the one with the trophy notification in the corner. It should be razor sharp, but it has been slightly blurred in that pic.

Fishy.

The PS3 version's colours do look washed out and it could well be a poor quality cable.

The PS3 version does look lower resolution. If the game itself is running at a low resolution, it also affects the resolution of XMB menu overlay and message pop-ups, so the setup has not necessarily been doctored.

I would like to see another comparison. Perhaps Eurogamer's Digital Foundry will do one of theirs. I read a comment from chief designer of F1 2010 Stephen Hood that the PS3 version is NOT the weaker version, and that the differences are very hard to see. I believe this was in response to someone having seen comparison pictures (perhaps even these ones).

Ok .. Im no photoshop wizz but I corrected the PS3 one a little bit ... sharpened it a bit .. and adjusted the color and contrast similar to what I usually see on my TV using HDMI cable ... This is the way it should be

For me the PS3 would be ideal cause of the wheel but I usually get multiplatform games on the 360 since I get them much earlier and for much cheaper.

I see the PC version has that misty/bloomy look that the other versions don't have. I'm have found it irritating - trying to see if I can mod it out

As I suspected, the PS3 version is way sharper than those original comparison pics.

100% doctored. Someone should be ****ing ashamed of themselves.

I'll probably get the PS3 first and the PC later. Doesn't hurt to have both. PC games generally drop price pretty quickly.
Esp. with Steam sometimes throwing new games on sale out of the blue.

Probably go X360 first, then get the PC one off Steam if I want to experience it with a wheel.

OK I went the PC route.. figured the graphics would be better.. given I have an i7@4Ghz and a 5870 card.. you'd understand that I didn't expect the machine specs to be an Issue... It's stunning to look at and drive.. sim? who cares it's fun.

Once I see the PS3 version in the flesh I may get it later from the second hand bucket.. this wont be everyone's cup of tea.. so I expect if it's too hard for some.. it will find it's way in the second owner bin...

Hope those of you that have made your choices are happy with what you went for..

Thanks for your inputs.

Cheers

Maurice.

You'll probably have a hard time putting up with the presentation of the PS3 version after playing it on the PC.

This.

I don't have a PS3 or XBOX, so I'm forced to get for my PC if I do decide to get it. But the sepia filter look and the bloom just looks downright awful compared to the XBOX and PS3 version. Sure, it's way sharper and you get higher resolutions, but the bloom and sepia colors just make it look like you're playing GTA...

It's possible that someone will figure a way around this in the future.. like they did with shift! or a future patch might become available..

I went for the 360 version despite having a G25 because I felt Dirt 2 was better with the M$ wheel. I was very wrong. Anyone complaining about the FFB on PC or PS3 should count themselves lucky they're not stuck with the 360 version. There is almost no feel at all, although I'm sure Fanatec wheel owners will be fine.

Luckily however, I know a manager of Gamestation who did a 'used return' for me and so paid just a few quid for a shiny new PS3 copy. Not perfect by any measure, but 100x more playable than the first route I took.

You can believe those screenshots ealier in the thread though, visually the 360 version is ahead, but I wouldn't go near it unless you have a Fanatec or are happy with using a pad.
