help, i maxed out the horsepower of the mugen s2k, the regular s2k spec-v, and the amuse f1 s2k.

the mugen s2k = 434 hp
the regular s2k spec-v = 444 hp
the amuse f1 s2k = 425 hp

does this mean that the regular s2k is better? if not because of the gear ratios and stuff, is it possible to make the ratios of eachother identical to eachother? and when it's identical, which one is better?

okay nvm forget the bs i said above about gear ratios and stuff, just tell me straight up which one performs better, if all 3 of them were to race eachother in a crazy racetrack, which will win? if they were to race eachother with the best ratios and suspension setting, which one will win? thanks.

edit: help this video shows the amuse r1 to go over 200 as easy as pancakes, can the mugen and spec-v s2k's accelerate and go up this high? http://www.metacafe.com/watch/745114/gt4_learn_to_drift_s2000_amuse_r1/

Well, I'd say that the Amuse is best, just from cornering capabilities, but an RX-8 can make more power, do well on dirt, and handle every bit as well.

Of those ones, the best one in race track driving is the Type V as it combines the highest power to the ability to have downforce applied. The Amuse is the best one when driven as stock.

And Rotary Junkie, I'm sure the RX-8 is a great car but it will be killed by a GT-R and so on, and it's highly irrelevant anyway as this is about S2000's. ;)

a Bit impolite, but nevertheless horsepower doesn't determine which is faster, it's just a number, you have to take into accounnt, the torque, weight, displacement, curb weight and such... I'd say the mugen S2000 even though i have never driven it, mugen is pretty well known for racing.

Amuse's is plain pretty to me, and my choice for drifting, if it's the R1, take mugen instead, if its GT1, maybe there's a dilemma there.

Experiement with them... such questions like these are mainly opinion-based, so technically what we say doesn't really matter 80%

I've played with the S2000 allot, I guess it all depends on your driving style. for drifting I like the Mugen and the Spoon. If we are talking straight out technical racing I would have to go with the Opera for being the lightest and most agile.
But I don't see any reason why the factory spec S2000 isn't fast enough.

Oh, yes, but I was trying to convert him to the dark side.

i had my b-spec driver test out two the cars in numerous tracks. it seems like the mugen s2000 is slower in all the tracks, 3 of the tracks it's slower by 1 second. and one of the tracks it's slower by 17 seconds. so i came to the conclusion that the amuse r1 s2000 is better.

If you really want to know which is better, I would have your b-spec driver test all three out and compare them that way. You can't base your conclusions for three cars using two cars.

If you really want to know which one is better, drive them all yourself and see. The B-Spec Botcher gives more than odd results, he can match his own LMP times in a JGTC cars and so on. Far from good results.

I did a comparo of most of the S2000s in GT4. All of them stock with >150km on Sport soft tyres.
Benchmark:
Honda S2000 '03 (not Type-v)
Trial Mountain: 1'40.895
Grand Valley Speedway: 2'13.509
El Capitan: 1'58.998

Amuse S2000 Street Version

Trial Mountain: 1'40.587
Grand Valley Speedway: 2'12.712
El Capitan: 1'58.747
Slowest of the tuned S2000s (almost slower then the stock S2000), pretty much a no go for this. For me it was the quickest on the GVS hair pin, but everywhere else it finds it's limit too easily. A little rewarding when you can get a good lap out of it, but makes you wonder where that power goes.

Mugen S2000

Trial Mountain: 1'40.231
Grand Valley Speedway: 2'11.981
El Capitan: 1'58.042

One of the best handling of the lot though a little understeery at the limit. Quicker then the more powerful Amuse S2000 Street Version and much easier to drive then the stock Honda S2000.

Spoon S2000

Trial Mountain: 1'37.649
Grand Valley Speedway: 2'09.708
El Capitan: 1'55.797

Great on El Capitan, understeery on the the tighter sections of GVS. Slower then the less powerful Amuse S2000 R1. Brake bias might be off.

Amuse S2000 R1

Trial Mountain: 1'35.432
Grand Valley Speedway: 2'06.937
El Capitan: 1'53.133

My pick of the bunch. The easiest to drive, little too no understeer or oversteer. Not as exciting to drive as the Opera Performance S2000 or the Amuse Street version but handles brilliantly.

Opera Performance S2000

Trial Mountain: 1'34.579
Grand Valley Speedway: 2'06.064
El Capitan: 1'52.302

Effortlessly beats the lap times of the Amuse S2000 R1. Oversteers quite a bit at the limit. The lap times could be better but the oversteer caused problems.

My Ranking:
#1 Amuse S2000 R1
#2 Mugen S2000
#3 Opera Performance S2000
#4 Spoon S2000
#5 Amuse S2000 Street Version

Just from my experience "driving" these cars Id have to say the Amuse S2000s are the best...just listen to them rev man!!! IMHO they are also the better balanced S2Ks on the game....
