Which settings affect drifting most?

Wrong section. Look in the drift setting depot. Using a pre-made setting won't magically make you drift.

so like . . . which setting, when set to the extreme in either direction has the greatest impact on how terrible it can make your life?
if I had to pick any one setting, assuming the car was fully modified and @ default settings . . .

the ONE setting I would have to say affects "drifting" the most would be the rear spring rate because if you have it at 1 the car will be crazy as hell and if you have it at 10 it will be crazy as hell in a different way . . .

The driver.

Oh sorry, that's totally not what you asked. I suppose the spring rate would be the most appropriate answer... Here's the thing though, all the settings work together in concert. One setting alone doesn't make or break the setup. The ideal spring rate is dependent on things like the damper settings and stabilizers, as well as many other factors.

For example when I'm tuning a car I don't just go setting by setting and perfect each one before moving on. I tweak one thing, then drive it, then tweak something totally different, then drive it, then come back and tweak the first thing, then drive it, then watch the replay, repeat. It's a long and hard process with lots of back and forth.

If you hope to tune your own cars, you'll want to start researching how the settings fit into the big picture. What is spring rate? What do the damper settings do? What do the stabilizers do? What is toe/camber? You have to know these things or you're just going to ruin your car.

@pergatory
Alrite bro thanks it's just i really want to start tuning my own cars an im not so good at it. I guess practice makes perfect then thanks

your all wrong what affects drifting the most is your LSD settings............!

*Tip Always setup your LSD before setting up your springs and shocks.

Yea LSD can make a huge difference

My 370Z wasn't producing as much torque as I wanted so I tuned the LSD and now it runs perfectly. LSD is one of the best things on a drift car to have

Ok what I would have to say In MY OPINION!!! Would be the amount of negitive camber on the rear wheels. When i was setting up all my low powered drifters such as my vw bug. I had to camber the rear and also stiffin the rear as well. And I have brought this set up to my other cars as well. And it seems to work pretty well for me. Now as far as LSD diff is concerened I only install and play with it if I am running anything other then CH tires.

Ok im going to be nice and throw out a small setup for a skyline coupe buy everything you can for car then turn Lsd to 60 60 20 and set ride hight all the way up in frount and all the way down in back this will make car look funny but will help with this camber setup ok put 3.0 camber in front and 2.0 in rear leave toe alone tranny-leave top speed where it is and take second gear and move it all the way to left pretty basic but will get you started oh yeah KEEP IT SIDEWAY's

Rear toe & camber should both be zero or close to it... what the hell are you guys doing to your cars?

Everybody run's differant i was just being nice and throwing one of my small setup's out there to the world of GT5

LoL well I actually run like 0 to -10 toe out in the rear and up to 1.0 camber . . .

to be honest anything more than that is kind of redonkulous

lol redonkulous... XD

Imo, just screw with settings until you can drift. Then you will realize, that when you get to a certain skill level, it doesnt matter what the tune is, because you will have your own preference.

Hi, I am not a new in drifting world of Gran Turismo5 and frankly speaking I tried yesterday LSD, camber and toe settings to put from maximum to minimum and I HAVE NOT NOTICED any serious changes in car behavor.
Car - Mazda RE-Amemiya
Track - Tsukuba, from GT Life to practice - TRIAL MODE. Physics - REAL
So I set, for example LSD to 5-5-20, went to track, test run Two laps
Then I changed it to 5-60-20 again to track and so on to 60-60-20, 60-5-60 IT ABSOLUTELY MADE NO DIFFERENCE for me for how better to drift. I did the same nice and confident drift every time on track. I played with a camber, toe, suspension Nothing made me to say: - Ok, this settings are good
Guys, dont listen to those who say that some kind of special settings for drift exist, IF YOU can DRIFT, you will be able to do on every single car wuthout dealing too much wih settings. If you cant drift, then settings will not help you to manage it.
Ouh, I forgot to say that I am using G27 wheel for drift and all written above was about those, who is learning to drift on 900 degree wheels.

I forgot to mention, it's not one setting that decides your cars handling, it's all of them together. If they didn't do anything anyways then why would PD put in the effort of allowing setting adjustments.
