I was playing F1 CE the other day and Magny-Cours came up, 45 Mins later I turn off my PS3 to watch LMS at Paul Ricard. I didn't realise Paul Ricard was in France until later that day. Looking on the layout of Paul Ricard on Google Maps I see no reason why this track can't host an F1 GP, esspecially considering it used to be an F1 Test hotbed. Would any one else like to see a revived French GP there?

No.

The old, original, Paul Ricard, yes. The shorter '80s version, no. The new Paul Ricard HTTTTT, NO.

Maybe as an added track however not instead of Many Cours.

I'd like a French GP at Rouens or Reims, but not at another stale boring track like Le Castellet or Magny-Cours.

My only favourite moment from Paul Ricard is when the Leyton-House March's were running 1-2 there because of the flat surface. I actually enjoy racing at that track in video games, despite it being very unpopular due its flatness and its rather annoying corners and masses of tarmac.

I agree with the others, I'd rather a better track was used. Magny-Cours was just as dull.

Anything other than Magny-Cours and Paul Ricard, will be fine by me, for French GP.

I like this layout, looks for plenty of overtaking and good spectator vantage points. It does have F1 history, just not sure if it can be brought up to todays standards.

Could Pau(?) be a possibility?? Also could someone post the original Paul Ricard Layout.

It's far too narrow. It'd make Monaco look like a runway.

Anyone remember the track Touring Mars made? It'd be awesome if you ask me:
Awesome as it is, the Le Mans Bugatti circuit has been pretty poorly received. TM fixed the probes with the first half, but not so much the back. But if you cold somehow work the Porsche curves in and skip the Ford chicane and keep it all at a respectable length then it would be incredible.

We need a French GP! I don't think having a race in Paul Ricard is a good idea... Lack of spectators because of the location. Magny Cours was a great venue but gosh just because lack of hotels and accomodation? I mean come on...

Pau already hosted an F1 race some times ago, but dropped due to safety. Heeeh... Seriously we need a track for this. Curcuit Bugatti is good too! I kinda like the Bugatti circuit made by Touring Mars...

If they get rid of those chicanes then sure, I'd love it.
The chicanes are interchangeable. Paul Ricard has over fifty configurations available for use, several of which contain a full-length Mistral straight.

Formula 1 raced at Le Mans Bugatti in 1967. It wasn't a good race - the circuit was bland and lacked any substance, and the drivers responded so negatively that Formula 1 did not go back in 1968.

Owh my... I think France is in sort of, critical in good GP Circuit. Either way, go back to Magny Cours, Paul Ricard or build a new circuit.

I don't know why but without French GP, things are somehow boring. With Renault yet to have their own home race anymore. Shame...

Guess Monaco wouldn't count then?

Wait a minute, Monaco is also part of France right? :boggled: Then that's current Renault home race then

Well not as exciting as it was back then in Magny Cours where the team factory employees were invited to the race to support them, like how it was from the recent years, especially when Alonso's time in Renault. What an atmosphere...

The Principality of Monaco is it's own soveriegn state. Unlike the San Marino GP (Imola is in Italy), the track is actually inside the country.

It's not part of France :) That's like saying Belgium is part of Holland.

Anyway, pretty much the whole of France is rural, so good luck finding a good location for a GP. They should just build a new one on the outskirts of Paris.

They were going to. There was a plan for one near EuroDisney, but nothing came of it. Then there was one for a circuit as Les Flins-Mureaux, but they abandoned it at the last minute.
