I mean, maybe if it was a cool car, or a fast car, or ... anything but a friggen MIATA! And how about something with a rotary engine in it? What a waste of a good idea ...

LOL hehe thats a cool looking car. Ill take it, anyways its better than my car now. :D

Well, at least the owner has a sense of history, and is obviously into the marque.

Think of how few people know how significant the paint scheme is!

True, true. I was thinking it would look good on an RX-8 ... in a couple years ... in my driveway ... with me in it (:

Yeah yeah - you're just looking for an excuse to run that shot again.

;)

BTW - any idea where that shot of the 787 and the RX8 was taken?

I just noticed that there is a silver RX-7 in the background, just above the winshield on the 787B. Neat.

The car is on a British plate, K reg so it is 1991-92. However, there was little to no bodystyling available for the MX-5 in the UK back then, so chances are it is a Japanese Grey Import into the UK. Probably been done in Japan (possibly by a big fan or even a Mazda employee) before being shipped over.
