Whos going silverstone tuesday?

32 guys I hear, 16 online qualifiers and 16 live event qualifiers. If you mean who from this website, I'm sure there are a few guys, Dessy, Tidgney, Rutter to name a few.
 
Oh nice.. How far do you have to travel?? I'm just going to drive up from Essex Tuesday morning!
I'm a bit worried, I have had very lil time to practise..
 
My wheels broke so I've hardly practiced either. As under my username, coming from blackpool. I'd rather not get stuck in Liverpool/Manchester traffic at lymm interchange, or from stoke onwards on the day so going the day before just to chill out. Last year I travelled from York to brands nearly missing a train on route, and that wore me out so it's just nicer this way, can enjoy it more to and not start falling asleep in the evening festivities like I was nearly doing last year lol!

I just enjoy meeting everyone as well as the competition, don't get many opportunities to meet people who enjoy racing on GT. (Although saying that it's my second event this year lol!) But ye, I look forward to meeting new and old faces a like :)! They remembered me at Jardine Intl. at least!
 
I'll be arriving late Monday night as well. It would have been silly to try compete with little or no sleep the night before because of an early flight.

David Williams (My3id_Dave) and I were chatting yesterday and he reminded me of these Facebook posts from last year recapping the finals. Day 1 gives a nice idea of what we did in GT5, although Day 2's write up seems to leave out most of the real world stuff.

I think as well its pretty identical this year with what we will be doing, although last year I'm pretty sure we should have been doing races rather than TTing but the PSN Hack sort of stopped that. Will be interesting though for sure :)! I am looking forward to it that's for sure.

You'll notice my car has Tidgney in the Window as well haha, so you'll know if I'm there or not :P! (If your wondering I put it up as a joke, but it turned out not to look to bad and friends know its me now driving about lol :P)

I predict two time trials to get rid of 16 competitors. Then a few head to head battles to decide the last 12 and final positions for the gaming element.
 
Alright lex 'wheelyclean' made it from 20th on time trial, (he's my brother), looking forwards to watchin it all as I'm going up too. hopefully as a contestant next year as only got 68th this year! good luck. Gav. do you know the routine once it all starts? Computer driving or real cars on a track?
 
Guess I'll just have to lash the redbull into me come Tuesday afternoon.

Last year half the field was cut, 20 Drivers cut to 10; Top 8 were automatic, and a 4 place playoff for 8-12th. Day 2 the first 10 were in 1 competition the bottom in another for some prizes, with the first 10 going for the places at Silverstone.

You might be right there, although I think it will be 16/16 split? We start GT Academy activities very late so they can't do to much (2 hours later than at brands?), I guess they have alot of pods as well! I'm just glad I'm a wheel user this year and not a pad user haha :P!

Might be able to get some sleep while travelling? Hopefully you do anyway :).

O and on a final note it's all done on a points system.
 
I'll be there. Flying in Tuesday morning to Stansted from Denmark and then driving to the hotel.

Last year only two people went through to the race camp, right? The documentation for this year states that the top 6 will go through. Hopefully that's correct.

I'm making fresh track notes! 61 tracks, 5 or so cars, and 81 tyre combinations is a headache. Here's to favourite track/car/tyre combinations showing up!

Yeah, I have no idea how that happened, but I'm hoping to do well in it this time too if I get the opportunity ;)
 
Jann, do you think you will be asked to advise on any of the combos? Surely the organizers will need help/advice from someone who knows the game well, unless of course they get Maz back again.
 
I'm going, will probably be last in fitness, driving and media tests if I get that far :lol:. Aiming to be not last in GT5 driving, who knows what can happen ;). Did a few online races today, this time with some of the people who are going to attend GT Academy finals. I was super slow with the Fairlady Z (Z34) so need to practice with that. First time probably driving it since GT Academy 2011.

I know that Maz is part of the GT Academy event team.

I think the combos have already been set. I'll be there giving advice too.
On the wednesday, GT-R hot laps are the order of the day for me;)

Awesome 👍 National or Stowe? Hopefully I'll get to sit in with you at some stage.

Anyway I'm packing up now and flying out this evening. Looking forward to tomorrow. I'm sure I'll meet a few of you in the hotel beforehand for a chat as well. :) Later!
 
I'll be there as a guest this year to support my main men Vibralux and Dantastic, let's hope a miracle happens and the weather gets better (similar to last year would be nice)! Actually surprisingly excited to just be spectating, at least I can't embarass myself this year with my lack of skill on the wheel ;)
