Why are power figures for most LMP cars total wrong ?

I just tested a few LMP cars to decide which one to buy and found out that the displayed power in the showroom is way off compared to the one the cars have if you buy it.

Bentley Speed 8 464/585
Pescarolo C60 Hyb. 475/675
R10TDI 484/484
BMW V12 LMR 426/586

And I always wondered why the C60 is so strong in "Like the Wind" or why the V12 LMR always humiliated me on the straights with my 500kW Stealth F1

Feel free to post the real power of the other LMP's

My test result for the 4 above:
(I drove Indy/Like the wind and LeMans/Dreamcar Chp. with each)
Best by far is the V12 LMR, fast, rock solid handling, easiest win of the races
2nd is the Bentley, not much behind but has a little to much understeer into corners and snap oversteer out.
3rd is the R10, handling OK but only 5 gears and huge power disadvantage.
Last is the C60, bullet on the straights but the handling is crap.
If you go fast and just think of touching the brake the back snaps out and you end up in a wall, opponent or huge slide. Also gets very upset over inside curbs (Indy).
I could tune the brake issue away for the most part but then had a pile of understeer...
Just noth worth it, all others handle WAY better out of the Showroom.

It's not just LMP. The SLS GT3 shows 493 in the showroom, but mine has 598 after oil-change.

The Nissan GT-R GT3 is supposed to have around 550 HP, but when you buy either of the 3, it has 591 HP.

The LMP issue is known since GT4 and unfortunately it sounds as it obviously didn't get better. That's sad. I didn't try it in GT6 and I will try it when I need such a car. Strangely it's only with the '98 to '05 cars as the older group C cars really had that much power and the power of the Audi R10, the Peugeot 908 and the Audi R18 are displayed correctly. As I can remember also the McLaren F1 GTR '97 was correct.
To solve that issue I always tuned them down to their real power display. It's sad and also not that real because the power and torque curves fall down completely, but it's still more realistic than have 900hp in a 600hp car. :D
