Why are there no Brazil photos in Scapes?

Why Polyphony Digital don't make possible to me take photos of the McLaren MP4/4 in the S do Senna for example even given to fact Interlagos Circuit is present in the simulator?

Rio de Janeiro is a great place to be in Scapes but what's the problem with not to be on it? Maybe the mayor did not permit Kaz to take some Copacabana photos?

Any thoughts?

Nobody here can say why, and all we know is there's none in Brazil yet - they add new Scapes all the time, and the team is perpetually capturing new locations.

They don't allow you to take a photo on the Interlagos circuit?
You need a permit and some negotiations for anything that is private and intended for commercial use. But for non-private locations you just need a permit for what I know. Something that any local production company can get you.

No, no. I mean in the game. In the scapes section, there is a filter under genre called "circuits". In that section, is Interlagos in there?

No.

There are a few circuits available in Scapes: Spa, Nürburgring, Le Mans, Monza, Watkins Glen, Laguna Seca, Fuji, Road Atlanta, Autopolis and Daytona.

Some tracks such as Goodwood, Brands Hatch, Barcelona, Red Bull Ring, Suzuka and Bathurst aren't present in Scapes. It's strange too.

Other circuits are fictious, I know.

I believe there is a licensing agreement between PD and every circuit separately. Some circuit owners permitted to take some photos, others no.

As for all real racing circuits in the game, there are no Scapes(at the moment) for:

  • Interlagos
  • Mount Panorama
  • Willow Springs
  • Brands Hatch
  • Goodwood
  • Circuit de Barcelona
  • Suzuka
  • Tsukuba

Even socialist countries that are allergic to commercial rights such as Cuba and Vietnam, of which there is only a single photo of a road in the middle of nowhere, are present in Scapes, so what's impeding Brazil to be part too?

I think Rio de Janeiro's mayor doesn't like the idea of losing earnings from the tourists by closing the Avenida das Américas in a single afternoon just for Polyphony Digital take the photos.

I really doubt that there is anything with the mayor or anything like that. I constantly work with feature film production companies and ad agencies that are closing all sorts of places. If PD wanted they could pull that off in no time.

Taking a couple of HDR pictures with depth data is way simpler and faster than dealing with film crews. Last year we closed several parts of Rio to film a TV ad for Citroën, it’s totally feasible. It’s up to PD to do it or not.

And even though tourism is big in Rio, it still is a tiny fraction of the state revenue. From the 85 billions of the state revenue, not even 10% comes from tourism.

I believe it is purely a matter of personal will.

I suspect that many of these scapes are the result of Kaz's own travels and photographs (if my memory serves me correctly, photography was one of his hobbies).

Brazil has beautiful landscapes, some cities like Rio de Janeiro so, I don't even need to comment... A few days ago I posted some beautiful images of Viaduto do Joá, Túnel de São Conrado, Avenida Niemeyer that would serve as a potential fictional circuit.
