Why can't I buy DLC's using my credit card?

Hello,

As the subject says, I am wondering if there is anything I need to do before I just follow the steps in completing the purchase?

Because in the end, I always get a message sayinit could not recognize the credit card information I gave in.

To question the credit card itself is out of the window because I have used it for 7 years and I had no problem doing online transaction on ebay and some other online stores using it. It has a VISA logo on it, so I figure it can be used world wide.

For your information, I live in Indonesia, but the game was purchased in Canada (asked my sister who lives there to bring back one)

Could it be the cause of this matter? If I purchase the game in Canada, does it also mean it is a canadian version of GT5 and any dlc's can only be acquired by a Canadian psn account, using Canadian Dollar, from a Canadian bank?

Or could it be there are some countries still not supported by psn to conduct their online transactions due to various reason?

Please help me with this matter.

Thank u very much

Perhaps it's something to do with cross-continental communication between your PSN (Asia) and the Store (N. America)?

If I recall correctly, a Canadian version of the game will require you to use the Canadian PSN-store for DLC. Other DLC will not work. The problem here seems to be related to your creditcard. My best bet would be to check with your creditcard company and ask them for a solution.

Is your credit card still valid?? I know normally it expires after 4 years (maybe only in Canada?) but you said you've been using it for 7? Check the date on it or get a PSN card, it's safer for you.

Not all credit card issued by Asian banks worked on other continents, had a friend from Asia who uses HSBC credit card, but he can't use it for online transaction on some American based sites like Amazon, US PSN etc, but for Japan, HK and Australian PSN his card worked, and some other European online sites. It's just the way some sites handle their security in transaction due there are many fraud cases with Asian credit cards. Best bet is to purchase PSN card codes online, there are many safe sites that will accept all credit cards.

I think this one shares the same suspicion with me.

I will try to use the PSN card codes like you sugested.

Thanks a lot for sharing guys.

Remember that you will have to buy the DLC at a PSN-store of the same origin as your gamedisk. (I.e. you will need a PSN-card for the Canadian store.)

Yes, but VISA what? Credit, Debit or Electron?

My card was originally a Visa Electron and PSN wouldn't accept it. Then my bank re-issued my card when it expired and changed it to Visa Debit, and PSN accepted that without problem.

Because PSN sucks. Why do you think it goes down 3 times a week?

Completely uncalled for.

If you have a Canadian disk, a Canadian PSN account is required if you want to be able to buy and use the DLC. If you don't want to buy another game, just make a Canadian account and buy PSN wallet cards.

Not a very good example, HSBC banks are showing up everywhere in Canada and are welcome at most, if not all, merchants here. Going as far to say as they don't work on other continents, is a bit exaggerated. Maybe it should be, Countries, or just, US!

I'm still under my suspicion that it's not a legit card, who here has a credit card that doesn't expire?? 7 years, really? Everywhere you buy something from asks you for, your expiry date. How is no one picking this up??
