Hi fellow drivers.
I've been on this forum for a few days and I wanted to ask you guys if there is any specific reason for people to want cars with 0 miles, does it give you any advantage on game?
Thanks.

Though nobody really knows how the chassis deformation/engine deterioration model is implemented in GT5, having a car with 0 miles is the only way of knowing for certain that the car has no noticeable performance degradation.

Personally, as long as we're not talking about thousands of miles I don't care, but there you go.

Does the car have a "life time" in GT5?
Does it get to the point where the engine breaks?

- There is "engine break in", in the first few hundred km. In this phase your engine's power output improves by a few percent.

Then there are allegedly two deterioration forces:
- chassis deformation. People say it happens after tens of thousands of miles. I have not noticed this on any of my own cars, and reports on this forum are not consistent.

- Engine deterioration. Happens faster than chassis deformation. I haven't noticed this either, but it is said to happen after a few thousands of km. engine output drops by a few percents.

- On top of this, ofcourse is the regular oil refresh cycle. This seems to have a much more noticeable effect than the engine restore and chassis rigidity restoration. (It's *much* cheaper as well).

As far as I know, the engine never really breaks to the point where a car becomes undrivable.

I dont see why people care. You can restore both the chassis and engine at any time to make the car just like it was at 0 miles.

Because thats what people want to do. If they want cars with 0 miles then so be it. Get over it, as has been said millions of times on here, it doesn't effect you or your game.

Some cars are very expensive to refresh, so 0 miles is a guarantee. Also, 0 mile cars that aren't prizes are somewhat rare, as you can only get they through level tickets and birthday gifts.

Not strictly true, I just rebuilt one of my cars (engine, restore rigidity, oil) completely and I'm missing 5bhp from when it was new. That's a lot to some people.

Personally mileage has meant nothing to me. Haven't even noticed a difference to be honest. I have cars with 300 000km and others with only 1 000.

It would be nice to be able to have a fair comparison between Premiums out of the shop and refurbished used models.

If you make the engine overhaul, the power seems to be restored to a "broken in"-state, so you never get back to the 0km state.

E.g. if you compare a brand new Aston Martin DB9 '06 and the standard model (the DB9 '03) that shows the exact same specification in the UCD, the used car, after the engine overhaul, has the edge horsepower-wise.

0 miles car have also a better trade value on the marketplace. So even if I don't care for myself, I prefer to get 0 miles cars to be able to trade them.
