I can understand why they took out the Nike, probably because it was too dang weird.
As for the Triathlon car, the Tank Car, I am not sure. They were nice cars - actually, scratch for the Nike, they were all nice cars.

But the Benz Patent Wagens went for a reason: too damn slow.

They were special cars introduced in Gran turismo 4. They are not able to be raced anywhere except in the practice runs or in Speed tests. Maybe thats why they took them out.

They were also special cars due to the high polygon count. Which is why (in Arcade) you can only verse one person. Due to the PS2's RAM

the caterham was a special car that could only be raced in practice but now its a standard car in gt5 you can race almost anywhere

I'm not too sure if the 2022 or the MTRC are even in GT5. But the Caterham can be raced normally due to the PS3's increase in RAM compared to the PSP & PS2.

Ive been on my cousins GT5 and there was no 2022 or MTRCs

I'm pretty bummed that they took out these cars. I love oddities (yes, even the Benz Patent Wagen).

I would imagine all the cars mentioned here were ommited due to the fact that they have/require human movement animation. I don't think the PSP could handle them.

The others left out are more disappointing to me. The Aston Martins, the Holdens, the Hyundai Accent Rally car, the Esso Ultraflo Supra.

Well considering the psp already runs at max cpu usage in single player (multiplayer runs at half framerate with the 'antialiasing' disabled) and dont achive the promised 60fps MOST OF THE TIME, I would say any problematic car was just simply removed

They could've changed the driver with a static model though. Wouldn't take that much work I believe.
