Why do I get kicked from Drift Lobbies...

For using a 4wd car?

I've been drifting for about 2 months now, ALWAYS RWD.

so today for the first time i tried out a AWD car, really loved how it felt. as good as i am with RWD, the 4wd was just a little more fun.

but yeah, been kicked from 2 lobbies in about 1 hour. why is this? the lobby titles didnt even say 'no awd' and i never hit anyone, actually was doing tandem pretty nicely with rwd cars

enlighten me please..

Blatant discrimination I'd say. This will probably ignite another useless RWDvsAWD drifting argument but it's likely they thought you'd be just another tool with a AWD car ramming everyone so you got kicked.

Drifters, especially tandem drifters frown upon Awd for a couple of reasons. First, they believe that it is much easier( which I agree with as I've tried), second, most will argue that it isn't drifting at all even with the LSD set to 10f 90r. Your best bet is to make your own room or find a room that specifically says that it's Awd friendly. The only problem with the latter is that those rooms tend to be filled with 12 year olds flying around on sports tires ramming into each other.

There are a lot of high hate when it comes to AWD cars in drift lobbies, your best bet is to ask the host whether it is permitted before entering the track.

That happened to me too with a FF car... :dopey:

To answer the OP ... because PD forgot to add a FF/AWD/RWD/RR/MR/FR filter option...

I can relate to the guys that kicked you... though I think they should at least tell you to exchange car type before kicking you...

I get this quite a bit too, I enjoy drifting my Audi S4 but many of time I've been kicked as soon as I hit the track with it. I don't see why it annoys people, if I'm having fun not annoying anyone then wheres the problem?

Because you got to keep it real bro... :dopey: kidding ;)

yeah i'd agree with that. its easier to keep from spinning out. but like i said i can throwdown an RWD car just as good, if not better

i shouldnt have to do that, IMO. if you dont want AWD, put it in the server title!!!

this is what bugged me the most. they could have just told me to switch cars and i got 100 other cars i could drift with.

exactly. im having fun, im not interupting anyone elses fun. why kick?

It can be fun doing time attack in the tsukuba drift games. I haven't gotten kicked yet but its only a matter of time. I've gotten to about 51 seconds with my Xanavi Nismo Z.

I was recently kicked for using a Daihatsu Midget, it's just hate.

Seriously?

I have a Midget drifter and when I bring it out it gets a few laughs until I start drifting and then people love it.

I got kicked out of a drift lobby for not being german when it said everyone welcome

Prolly 'cause you hopped out there in your R34...

I tend to be a bit hesitant allowing AWD in my Drift rooms. If Im hosting, I'll watch and see how they are going with drifting it, if the keep going off or are bumping into eachother, I'll ask them to hop into an FR, If I know them and I know they can drift well, I'll let them go simply because I know they wouldnt go ramming or doing stupid stuff, If I put NO AWD in the title, I'll just kick them, If I go in a room with people drifting AWD, I'll see what tyres they are using, If they are using anything above comfort softs, I'll leave. Too many times have I encountered AWD "drifters" using racing Softs tyres and just flinging themselves into corners hoping they'll make it through and hitting anyone who gets in their way.

I have a Prius drift setting and I never get kicked, people are usually too busy going wtf, same with my old Mini. Break out my R8 or Murcielago and it's an instant boot. Luckily, SLS AMG comes in handy for drifting events :P.

I was driving a HKS GENKI HYPER SILVIA! Its a FR

Well I shall call you crazy as 90% of the GT5 community (Exagerated) Obviously arent very specific in the room names.

A big majority of drifters online don't like people who "drift" AWD cars because it's technically not drifting but that's just my opinion so please don't attack me you AWD drifters. ;)

being A host of A lot of drift rooms I'm hesitant of letting AWD in my rooms. I always type in the room name NO AWD but if people ask I will allow them. The problem after that is, they tend to cause A lot of crashes because they have more cornering speed compared to the RWD cars. If you can manage to do it without hitting everyone then please by all means carry on but if you can't, I'll ask you to change car with A reason and failure to do so will result in A kick. The majority of the time, people will just automatically kick you without even watching to see how you are doing. You could be totally amazing but still get kicked regardless. It's just boys being immature I reckon and not being men :)👍

As for the fella who got kicked for not being German, that's not because your in AWD that's because the host is just totally arrogant.

EXACTLY.

this is the culprit. last night i was in a drift server with my awd, drifting very nicely of course, and some kid started ramming me, so over the MIC i told him to stop, and someone ELSE told me to gtfo with my p***y awd! cant believe it! i guess i am just a man among boys.

I was in a drift lobby, in my Mine's Skyline '00 (really good drift car), I spun out and I hit a guy in a redbull X2010 (why do people drive this car in a drift lobby?) and he goes I want to drag race you! So I leave the track and get My Suzuki ESCUDO Dirt Trial Car (another great drift car) and I meet him for this "drag race" and he goes hold up I'm not racing you in that you might nearly beat me. So it turns out he was the host and he kicked me out. I get a PM from a guy in the drift lobby who told me he has done what he has done to me to 5 other guys before me.

Because AWD drifters carry more speed through turns and most of the time don't care if there is a slower RWD drifter ahead. They will literally run you off the road if you get in their way, even if you were at the turn before they were.

But, this is just my experience. Don't hate :)

EDIT: D-MAX beat me to it.
