Why do my level 33-34 Bobs still drive like morons?

Seriously. EVERY LAP of the second race of the Historic Cup Championship they hit the wall in the chicane after the tunnel. I've tried all of my Bob's and several cars (2J, Toyota 7). They are all well rested (blue up arrow). Every ******* lap they hit the exact same wall. It doesn't matter how red or blue their status meter is. It doesn't matter if they are in a pack or on their own. They hit the wall every time.

It doesn't matter how good the car I give him if he's going to run it square into a wall every lap. And I know these cars are fine because I easily beat this race on A-Spec with them.

How many times do you re-adjust each car's settings before you put your bob's in the drivers' seat?!

My level 40 still has his moments of stupidity... But like the other response said... Every time you change the settings, Bob has to relearn the car again.

I didn't. Bob blew away the competition in the first race in the Toyota 7. In the second race he was driving like he was just issued his learner's permit! Same car, no adjustments between races.

Not to mention it drives me nuts when he refuses to pass. I've seen him go so far as to overtake a car in excess of a full car length only to then pull to the outside and brake and let the car pass him by. It's as if he doesn't want to hurt the other driver's feelings. He seems to have no problem riding right up on the preceding car's bumper though. He just doesn't like to pass. He does this in all types of cars...2J, Toyota 7, ZR1, NASCAR, etc. Very frustrating.

It took my Bob a while to stop hitting that wall. I just kept restarting once he hit it. After like 30 minutes, he finally got through the race without hitting it. I think you just have to get lucky.

It took me a ton of tries to get it in the 7. I ended up putting the cursor on pace down and kept pressing it while I watched TV because it was so frustrating to watch. Checked back every 10 minutes or so and finally I won it by a HUGE margin. I also noticed that the race I won the 2J started behind me as well. Not sure if that had a lot to do with it just something that caught my attention.

I agree. The Bobs are born idiots. It really, really p!sses me off when the brake for invisible objects (and start/finish lines) and refuse to pass when they've got the inside line and a clear run to the apex. AAARRRGHH!

I got my Bob through Cote d'Azur with a reasonable set-up and constant coaching. Reduce pace before the last corner and the chicane after the tunnel and you should be ok.

Good luck!

It helps in Cote d'Azur with Toyota 7 if you put 60 kg of ballast to 46 (in the back). This did the trick for me, since TCS kept slowing Bob down after the slow curves and at the start. Ballast gives more traction and reduces the oversteer a little. You still need to pace him down, though, in certain curves to avoid hitting walls.

My theory is that bob doesn't really get that much "smarter" - he just gets a little faster as he increases levels i.e. the underlying algorithm that controls his behavior doesn't change that much from 0-40. He becomes a better driver from a technical perspective in terms of braking, cornering, acceleration, top speed, etc... giving him better pace, but his decision-making remains about the same.

The only cars that bob's can drive the best, even if their physical/mental strength are drained, are the formula cars. Level them up a few times using a Formula Gran Turismo or an X2010 in some other event. Then when you put your bob back in any of the cars you mentioned, you will want to double-check every setting you have. Tell me if bob's spin out of control even with ASM and TCS driving aids set all the way to 10. For now, you are giving me and everybody else some good advice about the way these bob's react once I get bored with the same car.

Lol at a Bob learning. I have 6 level 40 Bobs which for the most part are decent. But they all go off on the same turns on the Ring almost every lap I've noticed. It's worse in faster cars, LMP and up. If there is any learning going on it's on how to go off the track in the same turns almost every lap. Anyway my cars are the same tune I use and I can take those same turns faster than my Bobs and stay on track too. After all the Bobs I've been through I'm convinced I will never get one that doesn't have fits of stupidity on some tracks even though he's run that track with the same car setup 100 times.

Put Bob in my Ford GT race car today...the same car and setup that I can smoke the competition in on A Spec.

First, he lets everyone but one pass him at the start (maybe he was busy tuning the radio when the race started).

Then through most turns he thought he was in either a rally car or an ATV because this fool couldn't drive to save his life. This is a level 34 Bob that couldn't win a level 15 race. I quit out on lap 2 when he was so far in last place that he couldn't even see the 11th place car anymore.

I'll be so happy when B Spec is done and I can relegate Bob and his band of 5 fools to remote racing!
