TV sucks now. All I watch are Simpsons re-runs and documentaries. All these "reality" shows are sickening! They are cheap and tacky. The one that gets me most is "Meet My Folks". Where else can you go to see upper middle class middle aged parents PIMP OUT THEIR DAUGHTERS?!?!?! WTF is this?! My wife watches it and made me promise not to tell anyone  I have to leave the room. It's just plain embarassing and offends any semblance of good taste. The worst part is... EVERYBODY SEEMS TO WATCH.

It's like that line from the Simpsons:
Marge - "FOX became a hardcore porn channel so gradually nobody noticed" (paraphrased)

I don't make a point of watching TV these days as you say it totaly sucks the only things i will watch is racing racing racing any kind :D Simpsons cool proggie Southpark thats pretty much it
In the UK we only have 5 terrestrial channels which is crap unless you subscribe to cable or satelite tv but you end up with 50 channels of crap to watch thats why i never bothered getting it

And to be totaly honest i don't miss it much :D

This is the reason why you are losing interest in TV. It is because you are addicted to GTP. I was the same way after I was here for about 2 months. Just hang out on GTP instead of watching TV.

Simpsons and Southpark aren't the cream of the crop of TV either.

Don't like TV? Don't pay your cable bill then.

NASCAR? How lame. Why don't you just watch Dukes of Hazzard?

Seriously. Since I've gotten into racing I've begun to notice how NASCAR is everywhere, it's like the McDonalds of racing. LeMans and Rally, CART, F1, etc... now that's racing!

Nothingexciting about left turn after left turn.

I really don't watch TV much - I find my computer much more interesting! :D I never watch any of the major networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX), with the exception of Survivor and The Amazing Race, when they are on. The Speed Channel and the Travel Channel are what I watch the most, and I always check to see what's on the other Discovery Channel networks. :)

Same here. Survivor isn't too bad. National Geographic Channel is good too.

Also:
Animal Planet, sometimes (except that totally idiotic pet psychic
History Channel
Wings Channel
Cartoon Network
Sometimes TV Land

But the Networks SUCK!

here in australia all we get are bullshit cop, lawyer and doctor programs. any night of the week you can change the channel and there will be 2 or 3 out of the 3 on. IM SICK OF IT!

7 laws of how to keep space (me:D) intrested in your show.

1. blow something up.
2. kung fu hijinks
3. turn nothing into something (i.e. monster garage, and junkyard wars)
4. Show the movie 'jaws' (and jaws-like movies including but not limited to jaws 2, jaws 3, jaws 4, imposter jaws, and the giant squid movie)
5. senseless violence in movies (i.e. commando, rambo, and delta force.
6. blow many, many, many things up (the more the merrier)

and finally the most important law:

7. never ever, ever, ever do a marathon of any show, movie series, documentary, etc... etc... Unless in contains one or all (once again, the more the merrier) of the aformentioned laws.

Space, you missed out the following two, essential, items:
Gratuitous female nudity
Car chases.

Just thought I'd point that out!

I'm pretty burned out on Todays TV shows too. I absolutely hate reality TV, because I really feel that if I want to see the antics of white trash all I have to do is step out into the real world and start observing. TV used to be an escape from things like that to me.
Right now I watch an old TV show called Hill Street Blues, Farscape on Scifi, some news, Simpsons, and Malcom in the middle (Currently the best comedy on TV IMO) Otherwise I'll watch movies or nothing at all... :(

Sitcoms are on my list of things that caused the fall of Western Civilization.

If anyone with half a brain stopped themselves for 3 seconds in these sitcoms, and saifd..."What am I doing..." they would get themselves out of the problem.

What makes me scared, is that People in this world are beginning to think that these sitcoms are real life experiences. Sienfeld is a great example. If anyone of those characters had half a 3 ounce of IQ, they'd never get into some of those situations. But it held the ratings...So who am I to think otherwise.

As for Tom's note on White trash, every time I start to feel bad about myself, I go stand in front of Walmart and watch customers for an hour. I'm not so bad off after all.

AO

TV had a chance to be something great, even sitcoms. The seventies used humor and sitcoms as a national forum for real issues, important things like war (MASH), politics (All in the Family), etc. Then the eighties rolled around damaged the collective brain of America with neon colors.

They should just trash it and start over. Maybe a novel idea would help: Stories with writers and actors and characters and a plot? Hmm. Who woulda thunk it?

That's what makse the Simpsons so great. It's one of the only TV shows that recognizes this situation and uses it in an ironic way.

Irony is satire and satire is the sarcasm and sarcasm is the highest form of humor.

(All those people that say sarcasm is the lowest form of humor just aren't quick enough)

Heheh, so i did:D

But we all know the most car chases end in law 1 or 6:D

I am really not the kind of person who spends the most of the time sitting in front of the TV. My sister does that. I rather go play with my PS2 or just surf the internet.

The only time I see TV is from 5:00-6:30

Simpsons-King of the Hill-Simpsons

Or watch the news at CNN.

Bad thing is that they are passing like the first season. Horrible animation. Homer has another voice and Barney is yellow from head to feet.

The thing I am beginning to hate is the huge quantity of crappy shows they are coming on fall (Fox, NBC). Enough of that BS!

Well like Dudebusta says all we have here are crappy cop shows.. That Packer dude needs to rethink 💡 But i have ESPN and was recently watching the Outdoor games which was pretty cool :D Did anyone see that dog jump like 26 feet!!!

I watch Simpsons and am consistently doing that or playing this computer/PS2/Gamecube...

Don't mind Becker and Everybody Loves Raymond...
