Why fix the chassis?

I have $362,500 worth of damage to the chassis on my '62 Buick but the performance on the car hasn't changed...Why bother fixing the chassis rigidity then?

Plus can someone who hasn't driven the '62 Buick yet check and see if perhaps the chassis repair costs $362,500 from the start? Maybe me crashing didn't change a thing and it always cost that mcuh?

isn't this a concerns of anyone else? repairing seems completely pointless in this game because performance and visuals (after the race) don't change when the car is damaged.

We need mechanical damage, it's more important than visual damage. Anyone that is a high level that can confirm mechanical damage unlocking?

What I seem to recal happening in GT4 was as you were playing and the chassis flexed for every corner, you didn't really notice it getting worse and worse. I'd wager that if you fix the rigidity, you'll notice a substantial difference.

Although for $300K, I probably wouldn't bother, either!

Engine and chassis rebuilt are only good for one race, I tried the 66' camaro and alfa, rebuilt them and checked again after one race, rebuild is needed again and very costly. Chassis damage doesnt seem that obvious but engine rebuilt does make lots of difference though.
