Why is my B-Spec driver slowing unnecessarily?

He's driving my RM'd ZR-1 in Indy. That car can take the corners at approx. 205 MPH, yet he insists on slowing to 130-140 MPH to take the turns.

When I do this race I lap the competition easily and never take my foot off the gas. He can't manage to do better than 6th place, even when I'm constantly telling him to "pace up" and "overtake."

Why is my B-Spec bob driving like a moron? He's level 24, he should be able to drive a car by now.

Race #2 he decides to make a pit stop on the FIRST LAP. WTF? He has the brains of a gerbil apparently.

Can't I set it up so I don't have to tell him not to pit on every darn lap? I'm not doing the full Indy race here, just the American Championship race. There's no need to pit in this race, yet I have to tell him not to pit on every lap. The pit indicator is on before he even comes out of turn 1 on the first lap! I have to tell him not to pit 20 times during the race.

I have the pit strategy set to "off" yet he still wants to pit on every lap.

Jet, two things.

1 - braking issue - I read here or somewhere, set your Brakes to 0/0 (default is 5/5). I had same issue as you, changed 0/0, no problems.

2 - Pitting - check what tires you have selected before you run the race, you didnt mention what the weather was but if Bob doesnt like the tires you gave him he'll pit as soon as the race starts and if you cancel the pit he will go maybe one lap and request a pit stop again.

1 - Where to change that? Tuning menu?

2 - Racing intermediate on a dry track with no inclement wether.

He doesn't pit when I set the tires to sports hard, but then he can't take the turns at speed and falls to the back of the pack.

After canceling 20 pits on racing intermediates, he won easily and had plenty of tire and strength left at the end of the race.

I'll try to change the brakes and see if that helps.

Thanks for your suggestions!

this is why Bob is pitting. I dont recall of the top of my head what the maximum allowed tire requirements are ( I think Race Hard, but might be Race soft) but check that and use those tires, not sports hard. If you dont have Race (Hard, Medium, Soft) go buy some (check the tire requirments first though, you dont need to buy all 3, I usually buy Hard and Soft Race tires, although there are a couple of races that have requirements for Medium and they might come in handy in the later endurance races)
go to GT Auto and buy the necessary tires and that should solve the pitting issue. You might be able to race with Sports Hard but Bob is very particular, especially, ESPECIALLY if you give him Intermediate tires on a dry track, those are just for wet tracks.

And yes, Brake settings are in the tuning menu, near the bottom.

Racing INTERMEDIATE tyres are for a WET (well, damp) track. bob will always bit to swap the inters for racing dry tyres (hard medium or softs)

Buy and fit some racing medium tyres, then set the brakes to 0/0 and you'll be on to a winner
