It's small & lightweight with decent speed & handling.

As Jalopnik would say: Because Miata.

My reasons... it's a cheap rear-wheel-drive car that has 50-50 weight distribution, a decent enough motor to get you going on straight bits, and fantastic handling that allows you to stamp your driving style on it.

If GT was simply a Mazda MX5/Miata and a massive library of tracks and roads from around the world, I would play it to my heart's content. It is one of those cars that you enjoy at any standard of driving.

One reason is because it's common, and new users won't necessarily know about the UCD recycle rate. And, on paper, it's got good power and torque, and if the user is paying attention to this, low weight. The most common cars I've seen as first cars have been MX-5s and Civics. And these cars are pretty well known to the public, so that could be another incentive...

It has perfect handling for novices and experts. Inexpensive to tune. And it's the modern classic roadster at its best. Can't wait for the ND(?)!

Even Jay Leno has one!

I didn't know the Miata's capabilities when I first got GT5. So my first car was a very beat down Chevelle :ouch:. Followed by an Alfa Romeo Spider '83. The Miata was my first drift car though. It's very versatile and reliable. Don't forget the smile you get when you smoke everyone else in a Miata.

The s2000 or the mrs spyder is the better choice
Well a couple of reasons could be that you are more likely to find a <20k Miata in the UCD than those other cars, It is allowed in a few more events if past GTs are any indication.

It is also a cool little car.

of the 3 I actually like the S2000 the best and on GT4 I would say I logged more miles on the S2000 than any other car but my first car was still a MX5 ;)

Miata (or MX-5 in some places) might have solid performance for a few thousand pounds or dollars or however you call the credit in the game but honestly I find the car a little too... effeminate, something only young women would drive even if it's only a game. Fun little car though. :dopey:

Because pop up headlights!

I also own one in real life, so I kinda want one in the game as well. :dopey:

No-one's yet picked a first car in GT6 and we have no idea what the choices will be, so:
The s2000 or the mrs spyder is the better choice
is either tremendous insider knowledge or the most bizarre speculation I've yet seen in this forum.
