I don't think there is a thread for this... but why don't they release the game tommorrow. If they say they can, why don't they. I realized the sooner they release it, the more GT5 fans there will be rather than Forza fans, thus increasing sales of the PS3 before forza 3 comes out in November. If the game isn't fully completed, why don't they release soon, or at tleast with Forza and GT Mobile, and have updates via PSN if the game isn't supposedly perfected?... that seems to make more sense than just making fans wait even longer... its already been 4 years!

they're at a stage where they can - meaning that the cars are driveable on a track. Not a full bown game. If it is released tomorrow, there will be so many bugs and it will ruin the PD name.

The game would be awful if it was released tomorrow, not to mention the huge lack of PR done on it. Sure those of us who follow the series would know, but the average consumer? Probably not. And as 80Y 2C2 pointed out there would be massive amounts of bugs.

And Kaz is a perfectionist. He won't release the game a moment before he feels it is ready, and he's very difficult to please because he sets such high standards for himself and his team.

Because Sony will not let him!! Sony whats to sell some PSP GO's, before GT5 kills there sales!

But I think there is no reason to not buy a PSP GO if GT5 is rlsd too... If I had it in my mind to buy a PSP Go than I would it... I don´t think that the people buy only a PSP Go for GT PSP... I think they would buy it anyway...

Or do you guys buy a PSP GO only because there is no GT5?? I don´t think so...

You all realize that a game is completed and tested months before release. In those months they get ready to publish and sell. So GT5 is all ready to be released, but there will be a massive shortage in copies.

I disagree. I believe he means that the game is pretty close to finished. All they're doing right now is polishing - fixing little details and so on. I also don't think it's filled with bugs as it is now. (obviously more than there will be when the game is released though).

They should aim to release same day as forza, but announce that after the psp version is out for a week or so. Honestly, I'm waiting to hear on a GT5 date, if its 2010 I will be getting a used psp and GT PSP

thats what they want you to do ;)

ahhh damn they hooked me, i was considering a PSP for the train ride into manhattan everyday and GT PSP has pretty much sealed the deal now its a matter of will I want to drop $200 or just $60 on GT5

As i have said in a previous post, Kazunori Yamauchi and PD will release GT5 when it is ready, it has to be right, thats the way Kazunori Yamauchi works. 👍

I had not seriously considered buying a PSP until GTMobile was announced :indiff:

No, I'm not going to buy a $250 PSP. That's going to be a hard sell I think. Frankly, I hope that little bugger is cheap to make. That way SCE could start making some money. It needs a big hook to sell it and at that price, I see no value. Other than it's smaller and lighter. I can get an iPhone for a lot less money than the PSPGo.

GT4 was not what it should have been. It was kind of like a really big beta. The biggest gripe: where was the online mode?

The online broadband adaptor wouldn't work with as large number of PS2s. Can you imagine the PR disaster SONY would be facing if they sold several million GT4 Online games, and perhaps half of them wouldn't work online, or more? Telling people, "Well... now you have to buy a new PS2"? I'm sure there would be riots. Just look at the grumbling that's beginning to build over the news you'll need a hard drive to play all of Forza 3. Or maybe play it period, we're not sure.

As I've posted a few times, someone inside SONY decided the thing to do is release GT Mobile with the PSP Go. Evidently they know that it'll be profitable. I wouldn't have handled it this way, but then I'm also not responsible for the health of a mega-corporation, its stockholders or everyone else involved. So I guess I'll wait with everyone else, and hope it comes out by Christmas. And if not, I guess we'll wait some more. ;)

I simply dont believe that its fully ready right now, when KY says its ready he means the majority of it.

There is no way they have already sorted all the online stuff, damage, customisation and vinyl editing and all the other stuff promised on those presentation screenshots shown a while back.

Unless PD is going to release a game full of holes and gradually finish it through DLC which is usually what bad devs do.

Robin.

When he means he could release it at any stage probably means that if they want to release it now, it would take about 1 month to get it ready and ship...

let them do what they do..

It's better to wait for a polished / refined game as opposed to a game with glitches and bugs.:sly:

This is true.

But would it be okay if the game is 100% complete but held back for months on end?

It may be because of the translation involved but the interviews I'm read so far suggest that it is actually complete and ready.

They can't release it tomarrow. They would have to give it a good marketing campaign before it is out.
