Last night when tryng to run the grinder I got a error message widget is trying to access a hostname outside the security sandbox and shuts down the url it was told to go to was $redirect_url.replace(signout). Who do I fix this. It still does this this morning so the problems is not solved by a restart.

Everyone currently has this error as seen from the last few pages of the widget thread (which is why it's locked). Just sit tight for now :)

Lock and sticky this for now, lol.

indeed, this error is beyond just rebooting the PS3 and updating GT5 to 1.09.

sony likely hardened their web servers or something due to the hacking/DDoS and the widget is broken - but you can MANUALLY do racing as I understand it.

we're all widget-less until the developer can comment.

Remote racing via the GT website is offline. This is why the widget won't work.

You can still remote race from the GT5 menu.

To the Mod that eventually will read this thread:

PLEASE don't close this thread aswell. I saw one thread being temporarily closed so as to not spam the OP.

Another thred was opened, but then closed when the same mod said the issue was discussed in the other thread. Please let this one stay open so we can get information on when the problem is fixed as soon as possible

When there is an update from Yonis, his thread will be re-opened. No need to have eleventy billion threads wondering why the widget wont work.

Close this one, sticky Yonis's thread.

I'm sure that Yonis' thread will be reopened when the problem is solved. In the meantime, the problem appears to stem from the fact that gran-turismo.com is down at the moment. If you try to access the site it says that the page no longer exists.

It was locked because it was requested that no more posts about the error was to be made.

As said here

But people continued to post about it, leading to the lock.

for the record, also getting this error, but can setup remote races via web browser just fine.

Looks like no one reading my previous post. At least at the time of posting, the widget did not work for me, but I could log into gran-turismo.com and start races with no issue. I won't speculate on what that means. Yonis can chime in when he/she is ready.

Call this uneducated speculation (because it is), but I get the feeling that since the AnonyBananamous clan tend to rely on scripts to launch their DOS attacks, anything resembling a script, no matter how benign or innocent as it might be, is being locked out of the system. Frankly, until these Anon attacks cease, we may not be able to use the Grinder.

If I were Yonis, I'd be waiting until the situation abates to a more normal status before trying to figure out what may or may not be wrong with the widget.

since sony won't have access to know how the requests are being initiated, they'd have to come up with a way to detect it. the widgets traffic will look extremely different from a ddos attacks traffic (requests measured in seconds/minutes versus milliseconds, actually submits valid data to forms, etc). because of this, the widgets traffic would fall within the normal use of the site and would likely not be considered part of the attack. i'm not sure what method was used in this attack, but in previous attacks they used the "low orbital ion cannon". more info here: http://gizmodo.com/#!5709630/what-is-loic

To ALL:
When Yonis has news to report he will be contacting the staff and his thread will be reopened. Till then we really don't need to know how many more members are having an issue with it.
Once the "Yonis" thread is reopened it will surface to the top again as posts will show up or you simply subscribe to it and you will be warned.

Do not open a third thread on this. 👍
