Will GT4 play smooth on my Ps3 model??

I have the motor storm bundled ps3. I have searched around and found out that the game is kinda blocky with some glitches. Is this still the case? I am about to pull the trigger and buy one off ebay but want to make sure it would be worth it.
Anyone with the motor storm bundle play gt4 and does it run ok? I need my fix of grand turismo with some tunning and more cars. I have played enough prologue.

Well, i have the one with MGS4 bundle, GT4 plays ok here.
Sometimes the screen "shakes" a little and the oppenning movie "lag" a little bit, but everything else is ok and i never had any problem while racing.
One of my friends have the Motor Storm bundle, if him wasn't so hard to find, i could check it for you.

Ok as long as it does not effect the racing part than thats not too bad. I can get if for like 10 dollars shipped on ebay so its no big deal. Just wanted to make sure the racing part would be good. Thanks for the reply.

You might want to check that your PS3 will actually play PS2 games at all before you start...

I presume it's a US market console? What is the standard internal HDD size of your model?

It will play ps2 games but it uses software emulation. I already ordered it on ebay for 10 bucks so ill find out soon if it runs good.

Mine is the launch 60Gb PAL one with the same software emulation of PS2 games. While visually GT4 is largely unaffected (some scenery glitches but nothing major), I will not play GT4 on the PS3. I find I'm at least a second a lap (on the average length tracks) slower than I am using the exact same conditions on the PS2.

You're lucky mine doesn't read PS2 games. Damn you sony you could have wait before I've bought my PS3 to remove the retrocompatibility.

I think that was the idea that Sony had. Maybe they tested the Ps2 games on a Ps3 and saw that they lagged a little bit, and decided to purposely leave the hardware/software out of the Ps3. - My opinion.

And why would you buy a Ps3 to play Ps2 games? They are for Ps3 games.

I'm not sure how well it would work with GT4, but it should work well with GT5.

I don't think it's digital - I find it quite hard to play the older GTs with on/off controls - but it's certainly not the same as the DS2.

It works fine. In terms of direct comparatives I might not be the best source of information as I'm not yet consistent enough with the G25, but I don't see any issues.

got it yesterday and have been playing it non stop. Only problem is i use a 1080p hdtv monitor and when i set the picture quality to 1080i it freezes up on every loading screen but if i hit the ps button then come back it has the page loaded.... I just use 480p because i dont have the freezing problem. Runs fine although the graphics are night and day between prologue and gt4. Just makes me even more pumped for GT5 tho.

My friend has a launch 60GB PS3 and when I put in GT4 in HD(it supports 1080i) The graphics look fuzzy when up close. I think for you it should be the same.

GT4 isn't a HD game though. And the reason it gets fuzzy is because the pixels have been enlarged...

Yeah thats what i get, screen looks a little fuzzy. Although i cant get it to work smooth on 1080i.

Just use a Ps2 for it! Simple as that.
