Will GT6 Be On The Orbis?

Apparently other first party developers close to Sony are working with the new system already, i think it would be silly for PD to put out GT6 on a dying system that is already at it's limit with GT5, especially considering the amount of features that were scrapped because the PS3 couldn't handle them (more premium cars on track, updated sound samples, higher track textures, C-Spec mode, etc)

Well as there are rumours that the next generation of PlayStation is coming out next year and we will most likely have to wait 5 years for GT6 to be released, it is a definite yes.

We have no idea. There is no GT6 so far, so I think this may be closed.

If GT5 was a launch title, then no, GT6 would be on the PS3. In fact, we would have been playing GT6 by now. But no, multiple problems and delays on PD's part changed that, so GT6 will probably be on the next gen console.

Orbis is rumored to be released x-mas 2013, which puts an interesting twist on my prediction of spring-xmas '14 for GT6.

Gran Turismo 6 would obviously be a very good marketing decision for Sony. Much like GT3's bundle with the PS2.

GT7 could therefore be the second title on the PS4, and take some time.

Why?
I think GT6 will be on PS4. And this was my opinion before and After the rumour. I explanied it in an other Thread :)

Because some people are just getting a PS3 and want a long lifespan that's why. Because some people couldn't afford it when it was a grand for it back in '07.

Because a lot of the problems, and possibly even the overwhelming majority of the problems depending on who you ask, with GT5 can be solved for GT6 without requiring new hardware. It simply requires a fresh perspective rather than trying to glue fixes to GT5.

That and the fact that Kaz already said GT6 was being based off code from GT5, so it makes sense to be on the PS3.

it was never a grand, i got my launch 60GB for like 500 i think, probably what the next gen will cost too

If they went by that philosophy then we would never get new systems. There is always someone who just bought it, whatever the reason. Nothing is stopping you from buying a PS3 today and getting 5 years out of it with the back catalog and games released in the future, even if a new system were to be released as soon as tomorrow. Heck, there are people still buying new PS2's and loving it even today. By the way, PS3 released in the U.S. November 2006 for MRSP of $599 for the 60 gig model.

My thoughts in GT6 are if the next Playstation system isn't out by end of 2013 release it on PS3 sometime that year. But if the next Playstation is set to release next year then I would like to see it on that. I'm hoping Sony has learned from the initial PS3 price point and this releases at $400 at most, making it a lot more accessible initially than the PS3 was.

Me too, except the launch 60GB was $600. Mine ylod'd.

I don't think the PS4 will cost $500USD. $400 is my guess. I think it might be $450 even. The original PSP launch price was $250. The Vita is $250-300. Sony knows the $500 and $600 dollar price for the launch PS3's was overkill for most people (it was a Christmas present for me, I never get presents :)). It seems right that they get the price right as they were considering that before the development of the Vita started.

If GT6 is on the PS4, I wouldn't mind having to wait to pay for a new system. What's with the obsession of wanting things NOW? 14 year evolution of the GT series, only five games, with one this gen (Prologue was a damn good taster though).

Quality over quantity? I hate how people say that.

If the Vita is anything to go by, transferring the code from GT5 to GT6 on the PS4 won't be a bitch to do. The development won't ever take as long as it did for GT5...assuming that the Vita is anything to go by.

It was a grand in Australia. I clearly remember paying that with only one controller and no game from EB. Then about a month later, I won one due to winning some competition by going into a draw when I bought a mobile phone. :(

I don't care what price it is, I will buy it. Just imagine how great it will look if kas isn't limited so much. It's supposed to support a much higher resolution, but TV's are only 1920 x 1080 p so how will that work or am I missing something.

Australia gets screwed over on a lot of things.

BUT

I figured something out a few months ago. Australia's minimum wage is something like $14-15 at the lowest. Whereas in the US, minimum wage is $6.50 or so at the lowest in a state, Georgia, with about 9.7 million people (just checked). Australia's population is 23 million. It's reasonable to think that's a good reason why things are priced so highly, but I'm sure there's more to it.

Honestly anything that is posted here is pure speculation unless confirmed by Sony themselves. I will also not believe anything that's posted online about the next system, even it's so called "name" until I get something directly from you know who.

My guess = GT6 on PS3.

i think it can support over twice the current 1080P resolution, and you're right there are no TVs currently on the market that support such high resolution but think about who's developing it, Sony...they also develop TV/display technology, if anyone would know what is possible in the future it's them, they may already be working on ultra high res TVs for all we know.

I dont want GT6 yet and even more I dont want a new console. what I want is full support from PD for GT5 and finish it 100% with all stuff fan's requested :) meanwhile building GT6 for PS4 or even better for PS3. while I understand that PS4 would be more powerful, I dont want to invest so much money into gaming, GT5 and PS3 cost me enough (HDTV,PS3,GT5,G27etc.)

Well I won't be listening to any I bought the Orbit just for GT6/7 comments.

If they haven't learnt there lesson more fool them.

one very very good thing is they're ditching the Cell processor, making it much easier for developers to unleash the system's full potential rather than getting bad ports like the PS3
