if there ever is a PS4 GT6, it will probably be run through Gaikai's streaming service. I fully expect that to be a letdown. Essentially, your PS4 is taking your controller inputs, sending them to Gaikai's servers which are running the game you're playing in a sort of emulation environment, and then it's sending that audio/visual data back to your PS4 to display on your TV. To me, that sounds like it will be riddled with input lag.

well, the whole idea of it existing in the first place is a giant question mark. But even if Gaikai emulation exists, there isn't any information on whether or not it would communicate to PS3 online servers. I mean, it could, but that definitely doesn't mean it will.
that being said, understand that this is a HUGE assumption on my part that a playable version for the PS4 even exists, which might not ever happen. If that's the case, then PS4 would definitely not play with PS3.
I sense that English isn't your first language, and that the reason you created this thread is because you're looking for advice on whether or not to buy a PS4. So to that end, there is no proof that GT6 is going to be playable on a PS4 yet.

This. Stop fooling yourselves with the GT6 on PS4 rumour because it's just that. It has been discussed at length and the point is that this rumour has no real support. I know various media outlets have tried to milk the rumour, but don't believe them, they just want to get site-views no matter what.

We have at least 2 years of GT6 to look forward to before we hear anything about GT7 on PS4. Worrying about things that wouldn't even come to fruition until about 3+ years from now is bananas, you guys need to relax and just get set to enjoy GT6

In classical Kaz style, i.e ambiguous and careful, he never says "GT6" or "GT7". He says they have plans for PS4, and that a PS4 title will naturally came but that they're now focusing on a PS3 title. Saying that this confirms GT6 on the PS4 is an invalid assumption. The most reasonable suposition is that he's just mentioning that the next GT (after GT6) will "naturally" come after GT6 and it'll "naturally" come for the PS4 after a long while, after GT6 and the PS3 are both played all out.
I know you, like all of us, are anxious for anything that sounds like news about GT6 but never believe sites other than GTPlanet, trust me. Maybe Amar's croatian site, but I've never read it. Unlike GTP, most sites are willing to widly interpret the truth just so they can get more views 👎.

I think people are misunderstanding Kaz here. While he did say a PS4 version will come naturally, he never said GT6 and could be refering the fact that it's natural that the PS4 will have a GT game. Which is most likely GT7 as Kaz said there's no plans for any PS4 game yet. He said that when people are done playing with GT6 on PS3 then it's time for a new next gen title. That does not sound like they are porting GT6 to PS4 to me.

What really gives it away is how he laughs before saying to focus on the PS3 version. That is a dead giveaway that a PS4 version of GT6 is never coming.

Theres always 2 iterations of GT on each console generation so I don't see why they would port it to the PS4.

GT6 will not be compatible with GT5 and that's on the same hardware. Now why would anyone think that a PS4 GT-game would be compatible online with any previous game?
For 2 GT-games to be compatible, they absolutely must have the same physics-engine, i.e. basically be the same game. Now, why would PD release a PS4 game (whenever that may be or whatever it would be called), and then restrict PS4-capabilities to those of the PS3?

This isn't entirely true. Games are emulated all the time, look how many ports of old games we have right now on the PS Store, "restricting" - as you say it - PS3's capabilities.
OT, I agree with everyone here, we're not likely to see GT6 on the PS4. This is basically the same reason why we don't get any ports of older GT games. I would love for SONY to re-release old GT games for the PS3, it'll never happen, but would still be cool.
